Series 1 (1981)

  Episode 1 (Sun. 11.Jan.81, 9:00-9:30pm)
    Gemma ejects boyfriend Danny from her flat, and quits the job 
    she hates.
  Episode 2 (Sun. 18.Jan.81, 9:05-9:35pm)
    Gemma takes a new job as a social worker.
  Episode 3 (Sun. 25.Jan.81, 9:05-9:35pm)
    Gemma asks her best friend, Julia, for advice; she suggests
    that Gemma should consider a marriage of convenience.  Danny 
    decides the forceful method is best, & invites himself back 
    in with Gemma, who is not amused.
  Episode 4 (Sun. 1.Feb.81, 9:00-9:30pm)
    Gemma's mother returns from an Italian vacation; Gemma finds out 
    about Howard; Josie (upstairs) discovers she is pregnant; 
    Gemma goes to Danny's for a hug.
  Episode 5 (Sun. 8.Feb.81, 9:10-9:40pm)
    Gemma locks herself out of her flat and calls Danny for
    help; when he arrives, Danny professes not to have the
    key and takes Gemma, still in her bathrobe, to his
    country cottage.  Gemma, furious and humiliated, 
    contrives to strand Danny there without his clothes.
  Episode 6 (Sun. 15.Feb.81, 9:10-9:40pm)
    Gemma lets Danny move back in and immediately regrets it.

Series 2 (1982)

  Episode 1
    Gemma meets a much younger man, Raif, who has some transport 
    problems (bicycle, car).
  Episode 2
    Gemma consults her best friend Julia, who has become less 
    self-confident about her lack of need for a permanent 
    relationship with a man; a power failure results in Gemma 
    meeting the new upstairs tenant, Sebastian, with whom she 
    spends the night.
  Episode 3
    Gemma's doctor diagnoses stress.  He advises her to express her 
    anger, and also to take a vacation.
  Episode 4
    Gemma returns from her vacation and discovers that Sebastian, who 
    has been minding her flat, has accidentally killed her goldfish. 
    Her great aunt Cissy (Cecilia Isabel Waring) has passed away, and 
    leaves a will asking Gemma to scatter her ashes, which with 
    Sebastian's support she manages to do.
  Episode 5
    Sebastian's latest conquest, Rosie, is lasting longer than his
    previous girlfriends.
  Episode 6
    When Sebastian, who is having breakfast with Gemma, answers the 
    door, it is Rex, Rosie's ex-boyfriend, who flattens him with one 
    punch.  Gemma is appalled, but ends up going out with Rex.
  Episode 7
    Gemma's mother is "feeling old" and leaves for the country for
    a few days without telling anyone where.  Howard tracks her
    down, bringing with him her reading glasses which she had left
    behind.  Sebastian gives Rosie a ring, and gives up having
    breakfast with Gemma.  Gemma seriously contemplates marriage to
    Rex.
