A professional thief, Alexander Mundy, convict #131425 is released from
his prison sentence early, but he must put his thieving talents to use for the
government. The S.I.A., the government agency he worked for, was into all sorts
of operations; however most involved the security of the United States. He
reported to Noah Bain, who was head of the S.I.A. for the first two seasons,
then in the third season Al received his assignments from an assortment of
people including William Dover, whom he'd met in the Rio the previous season,
Wally Powers, and Mr. Jack with his assistant Devon. Also in the 3rd season, Al
was joined by his father, Alister, an older thief (and his mentor) who had more
grace, style and charm than his son.

The series was created by Roland Kibbee and the theme was by famous jazz
musician Dave Grusin. The series was also a training ground for writer /
producer / director Glen A. Larson, whom would later go on to give us such shows
as Switch (with Robert Wagner), B.J. and the Bear, Battlestar Galactica, Buck
Rogers in the 25th Century and Knight Rider (to name but a few).
