           How 2 fix that black and white problem on a 1084(s)

                     written by Kylix/Excell+Myth

This text is only important 4 those who quilify on the following points:

-1: U most be a Euro PSX freaks
-2: u most have a 1084 with a 9 pin d port
-3: U most have a us or jap game
-4: u most have some cash over after buying the pay station aka psx.
-5: And last i'm not in anyway resposible 4 damages 2 anything!

extra info:
      These us/jap games need a euro AV cable 2 give colour on your t.V.
      system. B-cos composite video doesn't give the proper info for your
      tv/monitor 2 change the needed ntsc 2 pal! The original sony cable
      cost around the 50% more than some other brands cables and trust me
      guyz there is no diffrence!
      But there comes the tricky part: some tv's and most monitors doesn't
      have a scart connector. If you have only a.v. (8 pins) or c.v.b.s.
      (2 poles) forget that t.v. or monitor and buy a new one with scart!
      (and stereo aso.)
      Unfortunaly we haven't found any hardware switching mothode!

the story 4 so far:
      Most of us amiga users bought a psx for the best console fun on
      earth (waiting 2 get your hands on a u64) and still have that good
      old 1084(S) monitor somewhere in (y)our house(s).

Well now 4 those lucky ones we have a solution:
1 - buy that needed euro av cable
2 - make the conversion cable

The first point can't be a problem, unless u are out of cash.
the second point is a bit difrent, u will need the following hardware:
1 - a female 21 pin scart connector
2 - a male 9 pin d connector
3 - a few centimeters of 6 wires cord

The next scart pins are used by a euro psx cable:
2, 4, 6, 7, 11, 15, 16, 18 and 20

Meaning the following jobs: (4 those whant 2 now evrything dudes)
2  = Right audio out
4  = Ground (audio)
6  = Left audio out
7  = Blue video out
11 = Green video out
15 = Red video out
16 = Fast video blanking
18 = Ground (fast video blanking)
20 = Composite video out

in this little project we can forget pin 2,4 and 6

the following 9 pins of the commodore 1084(s) d connector are:
1 = ground red
2 = ground green
3 = red video in
4 = green video in
5 = blue video in
6 = Ground blue
7 = Comp. sync in
8 = H sync
9 = V Sync

well now we start with the connection of the following pins:
              .---------------------------------------------.
female scart  |  7   |  11   |   15  |   16  |  18   |  20  |
wire colour   | blue | green |  red  | white | black |yellow|
mail rgb      |  5   |   2   |   3   |    9  |   8   |   7  |
              `---------------------------------------------'
       if evrything whent oke it must look something like this:
                  _______             ______________
                 ( 9 pin )-----------| 21 pin scart |
                  \_____/------------|_______________\

            Hope u found something of intresed in these bytes!
