Title: Mortal Kombat 3

Manufacturer: Williams Entertainment,inc. (WMS)

Distributor: Sony Computer Entertainment of America, inc. (SCEA)

Type: Arcade/Fighting

Brief Description: The Sony PSX version of the 3rd installment to the
Extremely Popular American fighting game series, Mortal
                   Kombat.
99.9% ported over straight from the Arcade version,
featuring all the fighters, moves, Fatalities, etc. plus
all the codes and secrets from the arcade along with
some fresh new codes to discover in the PSX make this
virtually "The Best Game of the 90's".

Comments by the X - Alot of people probably think I'm biased towards MK games
since I'm the writer of the 1st ever complete MK3 FAQ and have
been a huge MK fan since 1992.
But honestly, this is THE BEST game I have played on the Sony
PSX so far, I have owned the PSX since it 1st came out and
                there isn't a single game that's better.
The translation from Arcade to PSX was so perfect I feel like
I'm at my local arcade while I play it, everything from the
beginning sequence to the ending is directly ported over!
The only thing which I have to admit isn't perfect is the CD
loading time, but that's not Williams' fault, the PSX is a
CD-ROM based system which already means lag time included.
(That wasn't meant to be an insult to the PSX, I still think
the PSX is the best system out there right now but you have
to admit, lag time must be put up with in CD systems and the
                PSX kills Sega Saturn!)

Overall, this, in the X's opinion,is THE BEST GAME OF THE 90s!
                Great job, Williams!

P.S.

Here's a comment defending MK3 on all formats, for those of you who
think MK3 isn't improved over MKII as much as II was over the 1st one,
(and the comment by GamePro, "Liu Kang was better animated") I'd like to
give you all this reminder, "DOES SUB-ZERO LOOK THE SAME TO YOU????!!!!".
Now, I don't want replies saying "It's only one fighter though!", well I
realize that but I'm just using Subby as an example!
And for that example, here's the facts...

Subby's changes from MK1 to MKII:
1. According to story, a different character. (MK1's was his older bro)
2. Mask and outfit vaguely altered
3. 2 new Fatals
4. Babality
5. Friendship
6. 1 new move (floor ice)

From MKII to MK3:
1. No mask
2. fully altered outfit
3. New actor
4. 2 new moves (Clone and Hail)
3. 2 new Fatals
4. Babality
5. Friendship
6. Animality
7. Mercy
8. According to story, no longer a Lin Kuei member

Well, till next review, enjoy your PSX MK fans!
