========================== psion/series3 #2026, from dsteel, 2102 chars, Jul 21 18:17 92 -------------------------- TITLE: Series 3 User Group Long Message. I'd like to introduce myself to the conference. I'm David Steel, chairman of the newly formed, independent Series 3 User Group. Its been alot of hard work, but the group is successfully established and work is well in progress for the first issue of our bi-monthly magazine "ICON" which is due out in September. The magazine will carry reviews of latest products, reader comment, hints and tips, technical information and OPL tutorials. There should be plenty to interest both expert and novice alike. We'll be aiming to consolidate and amplify much of the important discussion here on CIX and distribute it to as wide an audience as possible. Our editorial staff are ex-Psion software developers (including myself) and we keep in close contact with the Psion team at Harcourt St. so hopefully we can bring you the latest news. The user group is committed to promoting software development for the Series 3, whether from professional third parties or enthusiastic part-timers. We'll carry regular product listings, adverts and consider any quality products for review. As part of the strategy to promote software we are planning to distribute the very best Public Domain and Shareware products on our subscriber's disk. We may also supply the software on SSD's if demand proves sufficient. Anybody who is interested in further details can contact the group at Series 3 User Group PO Box 2375 LONDON E1 3JL or telephone us on 071-791 2219 (subscription enquiries only, we can't offer telephone support). Please let your modem-less friends know about us, we welcome users abroad. If you prefer then just mail me with your address and I'll send you details. We are always looking for interesting contributions, articles, letters etc. for the magazine and also good software either for review or inclusion in our Public Domain/Shareware library. I hope the user group will really help to encourage and support the thousands of enthusiastic Series 3 users out there and promote as wide a range of quality software as possible. Thanks. Dave Steel
