XCD is a small TSR (9K) which will enable you to use your custom missions
with the X-Wing Collectors CD.

No warranty, express or implied, is made as to the usability or safety of
this program. Use at your own risk.

XCD is Shareware, and you are encouraged to register it for the small fee of
$10. With the registered version, you get the source code and an enhanced
version. The enhanced version allows you to create a text file with the
names of the original mission and the names of your mission AND works with
the disk version of X-Wing. The enhanced version can basically be used in
any program where you want to substitute one file for another. The advantage
is that custom mission builders can create an XCD support text file which
will define which missions to replace, without needing to backup the
original missions, plus supporting both the disk and CD versions. XCD should
work with TIE missions when a custom mission builder becomes available.

Look for XPASS and TPASS, which stuff the passwords into the entry
screens of X-Wing (disk version) and TIE Fighter. These files can be
distributed because they do not include the passwords -> you must type those
in from your manual.

Also available is X_REMAP which adds various shield and power support
functions via unused keys.

XPASS, TPASS, and X_REMAP are all freeware.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

To use with the X-Wing Collectors CD, create a directory called MISSION
on the root directory of any drive and copy your custom mission files
into it. Then load XCD {drive} where {drive} is the disk drive with your
custom missions.

When a custom mission or briefing is found in your \MISSION directory,
you will hear a BEEP. You should get one BEEP before the briefing indicating
the custom briefing was loaded and two more BEEPs when you enter the mission,
indicating the custom mission is loading. X-Wing seems to load the mission
twice, which is why you get two BEEPs.

XCD will look in a \CLASSIC directory if it cannot find a \MISSION directory.

There is a limit to the number of substitutions that XCDR can handle. Each
one takes about 12 bytes or so. If you have too many, the TSR will probably
lock up when loading. You should be able to load about 50 without any
problem. Don't put more than 50 missions in your substitution directory.

To register XCD, send $10 U.S. to:
