* Once the holy grail of the misc.invest.* groups, versions of this have
appeared. In brief: there are no free sources for real-time or complete
closing data on the Internet. Two sites offer free quotes that are
delayed by a minimum of 15 minutes. Some sites offer a selection of
closing data, one ftp site collects freely distributable historical data,
and many bulletin boards (via dial-up only) have comprehensive historical
data. The preeminent source, Dow Jones News Retrieval, can be accessed
over the Internet, but you must pay for an account with them. Fetch the
FAQ for more details about all of these possibilities.
