HEARTBREAK BRIDGE: (Clint Eastwood together with other famous faces)
Pretty good non-vietnam (well, most of it) american
military movies. One thing struck me though, Clint (he
made the film too, yes) seem to Spread I'll-quote-this-
myself-lines. You know.. almost everything he says can
be quoted w/o losing the fun/macabre etc :) A quote-
movie. If you expect action this is Not the one for you.
                    Rating: 3 out of 5.

TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: Is actually 3 "horror" pictures put together on
one tape. Quite good/expensive effects etc, and
good stories to back it up. A bit predictable
                           though, but not bad.

I recently read the two first books in the 2000-series by Arthur C. Clarke,
2001 and 2010 (I'm currently reading 2061 (the last(?) in the serie)) and
I found them to be excellent, so I bought the movies (2001 and 2010) last
week to see if they were as great as the books.

This one I knew had CULT status very early, because the screenplay is made
by STANLEY KUBRICK (A Clockwork Orange) and ARTHUR C. CLARKE himself in the
year of 1968 (just one year before we first landed on the moon!) so I
expected it to be something extra.

What can I say? If you're high on drugs, wasted or in another mixed state
of mind, you will appreciate this film. Most of the film is just pictures,
colors, and other strange silent (with classical music playing) scenes.
Most of it is planets, space, stars and more space really. I haven't
counted the minutes where something is happening, but they aren't many.
I can't say that I was surprised either. In 1968, space movies was all
about fiction. Aliens, Mutant spiders and whatever "could be out there".
So this is perhaps the first Serious space fiction film? It does follow
the book (whenever something is happening where actors are in the picture)
but if you haven't read the book, just DON'T see the film. The first 30
minutes is something that'll make you sleep. But if you HAVE read the book,
see it! Now! It is something you wouldn't want to miss.

It is a beautiful film, with great familiar classical music pieces and
with amazing pictures of planets and space objects. It is also 2 hours
 and 14 minutes long.

Ratings: If you have read & enjoyed the book: 5 out of 5
If not: 1.5 out of 5

till in.
jazz-soul... lt inget vidare :(. Sen vid 23.00 tiden kom ntligen Public

'vanliga' ltarna, typ 'Fight the Power', 'A letter to the New York Post'
& 'By the time I got to Arizona' + en del till (kommer tyvrr inte ihg

have the most wide range of different styles, ranging from rastafari to
straight funky-town shots, and of course the never-changing BB Lyrics,
WITH high-powered full-of-bass drum beats. This album makes me really go
back in time to my first Eric B & Rakim album with "Finger Lickin' Good"
which is the straigt old BB standard-rap; fast, kickin', rude lyrics,

but with this new great riot-feeling beat roaring in the back, mixed with
Dylan-cuts, scratches and changing drum beats. Dizzed vocals with heavy-
metal guitars and low-frequency bass/drum kicks rips "So What'cha Want"
into a great mass of 'bend-your-knees' rap. If you've heard earlier BB
albums, you will be surprised. I can't really compare it with any of the
others, because there's too much distance between them. But if you were
a BB fan earlier, you'll still love this album.

(it doesn't hurt either to be a fan of Eric B & Rakim / Public Enemy)

[for an amazingly beautiful song, listen to "The Biz vs The Nuge" with
Ted Nugent using electro-powered chainsaws to master his guitar.. :))

      - r en slags introduktion till albumet.
Kul intro, schysst halv-kaotisk rytm. Ngot ooriginell bara.

      - Presenterar Just D:s syn p tanken bakom dansen, dvs det r ingen
tanke bakom den, utan den r helt meningsls.
Lugn intro, schyssta loopar (ngot PE inspirerad kanske). Och texten
passar ihop med musiken i sedvanlig Just D-stil. Koolt pianosolo.

Klar hit!
Temat r titeln (vad annars), och mycket bra gjord, bde musikaliskt

                                   2010

This, the second "chapter" in the '2000-series' is a film you all could
enjoy, but you have to have seen "2001" first to understand what's
happening! If you just see this without having seen 2001, you won't
get the picture. (ha hah haa)

This film does NOT contain ANY "high on drugs" scenes at all. It is
a straight science fiction film, with a lot of "known" actors like
ROY SCHEIDER. It is made by PETER HYAMS.

This one ALMOST follows the book. It is just ONE little thing that
doesn't happen in the book, that happens in the film, but it is not
anything to be concerned about. It is an EXCELLENT film. Made in 1984,
and is 1 Hour and 51 minutes long.

The story in both films -> A Big black monolith has been found on Earth's
moon, it measures exactly 1x3x9 and does not reflect any light at all.

It is completely smooth, with no cracks, flaws or anything. When the
sun hits the monolith, it sends a transmission through space, heading
for one of Jupiter's moons, Europa. Mankind decide to send a manned ship
to find out where/what it meant to Jupiter. The ship in 2001 is controlled
by a computer, HAL 9000, which is 'intelligent'. It can speak through
loudspeakers, see through electric eyes and it runs the complete expedition,
the ship and the communications. The crew on the ship is only there to
aid the computer, and to make observations. When the ship is close to
Europa, they find that a huge monolith is floating in space between two of
Jupiter's moons. At the same time, the ship's communication system breaks
down (reported by HAL). The crew can't find that anything is wrong, and
starts to distrust HAL (the HAL 9000 series have 'never' made a mistake).
HAL starts to act strange, and even starts killing the crew...
In 2010, another ship is sent to check what happened on the first one.
Russia and the U.S. cooperates, and sends a mixed crew with a russian
space ship to Jupiter. No Computer is used this time, only humans,
because they knew something happened with HAL on the other ship. They
send the constructor of HAL together with 2 other americans and 7
russians to see if they can find out what relly happened.

When they arrive, they find life on Europa and the Huge monolith + the first
ship. Then war breaks out on earth between the U.S. and Russia, and the
three americans must leave the russian space ship. They have to use the old
ship again, and HAL 9000... At the same time, something strange is happening
 with Jupiter...

THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS: Veery good! This is a movie in the true spirit.
John Carpenter is ``guilty'' of this masterpiece,
and he's done a great job. Ok, maybe not so many
gore shots, but those who are in, are darn good.
Almost-original kinda story, and it never really
loses the action, nor the atmosphere. It's always
there. Rating: 4+ out of 5

GOOD MORNING VIETNAM: Well, Robert Williams and all. But it's no hit.
You'll probably laugh every now and then, but the
whole impression of the movie is just "ah, another
vietnam story", but it's not quite that simple,
you wont see any bullshit american propaganda or
anything :) (anyway, it's done nice) See it if you
like Robin Williams as an funny actor.

  This is a slow funky .. italian-type hip-hop album. I bet y'all have heard
"how i could just kill a man" before, with the video that featured Ice Cube
too. They're also pretty active right now with a track from the movie
"Juice", which I think is "so-so". But this, their first and only (yet)
album is great. It's nothing for the "Riot" listener, but something for the
 Hip-Hop fanatics.

They are "pretty" controversial.. Their lyrics have some ..ehm ..strong
words, and ok, the 1:st track "Pigs".. I think you understand what it is
about. But this is the way "normal" hip-hop is going these days. With O.P.P,
Cypress Hill, Jungle Brothers and so on, it's slow, but each one of them has
something special. Like Cypress Hill with the "Italian" style.

I don't know if You'll like it, but I sure do. (it's got that now famous
"bend-your-knees" feeling, like all of them do these days in this type of
 hip-hop videos.. heh)

 Rated: 4 (out of 5)

Good beat & raps. Good choice of introduction to this album.

Quite a bad tune actually, _very_ repetitive. An extra mark for
    the cool athmosphere-raising guitar sample.

Very good rapping, including one of the few times they use PE
sample! Changing music and mixing old and new BB-style. One of my
    two favorites on this album.

Very good music along with fitting raps. Only 'live instruments'.

Speedy track with heavy guitars and noisy singing. Great at
    parties!

 10 SOMETHING'S GOT TO GIVE [4/5]
Very smooth and slow intro, excellent. The slowest track on the
album, and ever as well, I guess, produced by the BB.
"I've seen better days than this one..."

Just some talking in some restaurant along with some drum beat.

 12 STAND TOGETHER [4/5]
This intro was the first time I ever heard someone imitate a
chicken with a saxophone. Quite speedy once it gets started.
     Cool guitars!

Even more Hammond. Instrumental tune with drum solo, nice guitars
     and bongos.

The 'intro' is taken from their answering machine. The loop they
use reminds me of old GMF tracks, but some heavier, BB-stylish.

More Hammond..Bongos, guitars..not very original. Instrumental.

Typical BB track. Bongos, Hammond organ and the same guitar sound.
Almost heavy, absolutely not one of their masterpieces.

17 MARK ON THE BUS [3+/5]
Quite a nice odd-atmosphere song. Very short though.

 18 PROFESSOR BOOTY [3/5]

The story (in short format): Nick Nolte was a defense attourney seventeen
years ago, and defended Robert De Niro who had raped and molested a 16-year
old girl. Some evidence that showed that the girl had had three different
boyfriends the last month was mysteriously destroyed (by Nick Nolte) because
he knew that De Niro was guilty, and wanted to send him away for what he had
done. The evidence had freed De Niro if it had been known by the court. No
one knew, except Nolte. So De Niro got 10 years for what he had done, and
everything was back to "normal"... for a while. (Why De Niro finally got 17
years, was because he had killed a fellow prisoner by biting off his tounge,
and then beat him to death (if my memory serves me right here.. correct me
 if I'm wrong.))

While in prison, De Niro learned how to read (no, he didn't know how to
before then), and found out that Nolte had destroyed the evidence that would
have freed him, and of course he starts to call for revenge. He even acted
as his own attourney (because he had studied law in prison) to get himself
out of the prison. Now, 17 years later, he's out and he's in the same city
 as Nolte and his family.

Normally ex-cons usually don't get any jobs, doesn't make any money, and
then gets back to their crime-doings, but De Niro's aunt had died while he
was in prison, and left him $30.000 to spend. He tracks down Nolte, and
follows him wherever he goes. After a while Nolte becomes aware of De Niro,
but doesn't take his "threats" seriously until De Niro starts his show.
Nolte's Dog gets poisoned. Nolte's "we never slept with eachother" mistress
gets raped and molested (but refuses to file charges against De Niro because
she's working at the attourney's office, and wouldn't stand the personal
abuse it would cause (typical)). Nolte's 15-year old (soon 16) daughter
meets De Niro, and she starts to like him (sexually, how strange this may
sound), and so on and so on. De Niro is everywhere, and doing everything
within the law, so Nolte can't do anything to prevent him. Whatever Nolte
does, De Niro outsmarts him. After a while of this, Nolte's only way to get
rid of De Niro is to kill him. So he sets up a trap with the help of a
private investigator (who's not very legit). De Niro is to think that Nolte
is out-of-town for a few days, and that Nolte's wife and daughter is alone
in the house. But that's where he's wrong..

THE BULLIES: Hehe, this one is good. It's that kinda movie labeled
(unofficially) "A normal american town, an ordinary day, with
a normal american family"... of course people get killed, in
the most perculiar ways, women get raped, children gets abused
etc. And of course, A SMASHING END! hehe. See this if you want
peace and violence in a cute mix. Rating: 3+ out of 5

INTRUDER: By/partly with: SAM RAIMI (Evil Dead, Darkman...) A store is
closing down definitely. On the emplyees' last night at the store
they get some problems.. people disappear and next time they're
seen, they are hung up on some meat hook, chopped to pieces or
other delicious deaths. I saw the x-rated(?) version first but it
still was BRILLIANT! No detailed splatter scenes though. Now I
got to see the R-rated version. WHAT CAN I SAY!? Yet another,
non-humorous this time, masterpiece from Mr Raimi! He knows how
to get rid of people, and how to display it in a cool way. Just
the camera views are worth 5+/5! Rating: 4 out of 5 (rating loss
for the fighting scene at the beginning of the film...it's
            disasterous)

bttre Svensk grupp i dagslget, utan denna dubbel-CD r ett #1 kp, s
spring ut och kp, ls inte vidare! Finurliga lyrics med klassiska riff frn
allehanda kndis-plattor.

grejer Just D ftt p sitt 071-nummer frn folk som ringt. Mycket smart.

 Rated: 5+ out of 5

Urban Dance Squad & Juice ͹

I noticed today that URBAN DANCE SQUAD (the dutch guys) had released a new
CD, and I couldn't resist listening to it. It's a lot better than "Mental
Floss.." with HEAVY rapping with great cuts (and as always, mixed with
totally non-rap music as well), but I seem to be addicted to his (the
singer) voice. It fits the rhythm like a hand in a glove. And I love the
cuts on this one. I just can't remember the title right now, but it's sure
 on my "to get" list.

I couldn't miss the JUICE soundtrack as I passed the "movie soundtrack"
section of the record store. After listening to it (at the store) I couldn't
but feel that it's totaly ruined by SALT N PEPA, and a few others too as
well.. That kind of hip-hop (if it is to be called that even) doesn't affect
me at all. It's more like DISCO-POP-HIP-HOP, and I can't stand it. There's
only about 4 tracks that makes the CD worth buying. ERIC B & RAKIM, CYPRESS
HILL and EPMD are sure bets for great hip-hop, and there were a couple of
tracks that really got me goin' there with riot-feeling and fast hitting
heavy beats (one sounded like SILVER BULLET but it wasn't him). Not
 recommended.
