To activate press BAND while turning the radio on. CPU RESET - Depress SET and MW. Turn on radio. HM-56 MIC BUTTONS RESET- Depress MW & MR on Mic. Turn on power to radio. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- HM-56 TOUCHTONE MIC FUNCTIONS: - MW -MEMORY WRITE MODE -To enter DTMF tone sequence (up to 22 digits) into MEMORY. Press MW Red LED begins Blinking. Then PTT and hold PTT enter memory # (0-9,A-D) then the tone digits. Release PTT. Push MW. Red LED goes out. - MR -MEMORY READ MODE - To transmit stored DTMF memory. Press MR then the memory (0-9,A-D) and contents will be transmitted immedialty. Red LED blinks while Xmitting. - RD -REDIAL FUNCTION - Push RD. Red LED blinks. Press PTT & last DTMF sequence will be retransmitted EACH time until RD is pressed to cancel. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- HM-56 and EXTERNAL REMOTE FUNCTIONS WITH OPTIONAL UT-55 DTMF DECODER 1- (CALL) Selects Call channel for the MAIN band. 2- (MR) Selects MEMORY mode for the MAIN band. 3- (VFO) Selects VFO mode for the MAIN band. 4- (VHF) Selects VHF for the MAIN Band. 5- (UHF) Selects UHF for the MAIN Band. 6- (HIGH) Selects High power for thew Main Band. 7- (V.MONI) Opens and closes the VHF squelch. 8- (U.MONI) Opens and closes the UHF squelch. 9- (LOW) Selects low power 1 for the Main board. 0- (MUTE) Mutes audio signals both bands. #- (UP) Changes frequency or memory channel UPward. *- (DOWN) Changes frequency or memory channel DOWNward. A- (CLR) Clears input digits and retrives previous key input. B- Activate External control- Eg: B password # C- (SPEECH) Announces the MAIN band Frequency when UT-66 installed. D- (ENT) Enters freq. or Memory channel (16=mem. ch.A 17=mem. ch.B) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACTIVATING REMOTE CONTROL: 1. Set MAIN band for frequency of operation & SUB band for frequency of CONTROLing Transceiver. In U.S.- Legal remote control must be on UHF. 2. Program 3 digit password into code channel #5 if required (see below) 3. Set CTCSS frequency & turn on CTCSS if desired- (reliablility increases) 4. Push and hold PGR/CS until "REMOTE" appears. 5. From controller Transceiver transmit B, 3 digit password, and #. 6. REMOTE and SUB blink. Unit is in remote control and can be used as a cross band repeater or remote base. 7. To cancel REMOTE CONTROL at CONTROLing Transceiver, transmit B* 8. To cancel Standby mode at IC2410 puch and hold PGR/CS until REMOTE disappears. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- PROGRAMMING CODE CHANNELS 1. Push PGR/CS to select pager function. "PGR" appears on display. 2. Push "SET" to call up a code channel. 3. Rotate tuning knob to channel desired. 4. Press SET or HI/LOW to select desired digit. 5. Rotate tuning knob to desired digit. 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until code is selected. 7. Push PGR/CS to select "Receive accept" or "Receive inhibit" Display shows: "SKIP" off -- "SKIP" on 8. Push PGR/CS to return from previous mode. CODE CHANNEL 0- Your ID code - Accept only. 1-5 ACCEPT=GROUP CODE INHIBIT=Other stations ID. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
