Notes:
This system is sponsored by the Monroe County Packet
Association (MCPA) and serves the Bloomington, Indiana, area
as a full-service PBBS, provides access to tcp/ip services to
local AX.25 packet enthusiasts, and participates in the
Indiana pbbs forwarding network. Software is a custom
compiliation of WG7J's base JNOS v1.08 code, including full
mailbox, netrom, and AX.25 BBS forwarding support.
This system is connected to the k9iu-gw.ampr.org
Internet/Amprnet gateway by a hard-wired Ethernet connection;
k9iu.ampr.org also supports 1200bps lans on 145.05 MHz and
145.57 MHz, a 9600bps lan on 443.175 MHz, and access to the
9600bps Southern Indiana Network (SIN) backbone on 223.42 MHz,
which is sponsored by the Indiana Digital Experimenter's
Association (IDEA).
Authorization is required for full access to all of the
features of this system; it is suggested that amateurs access
and support (or sponsor!) an Amprnet system in their own
geographic area.

This Eastern Pennsylvania Internet <--> Amprnet Gateway
routes all IP traffic (including Amprnet --> Internet) to
the WG2W Gateway. On the Amprnet (radio) side, the K3NAL
Gateway ties in with nawc.k3nal.ampr.org [44.80.8.70]
which is our local packet switch, via a slip connection.
Someone said that encap was "the ultimate firewall breaker"
and I am taking advantage of that here. Our Cisco router
will not pass outgoing 44 traffic and it would take an act
of Congress, or at least more effort than I want to put into
it, to get that changed.
What this means is that the return path to your gateways will
still be encapped to WG2W and then encapped to your Gateway.
IPaccess on the K3NAL Gateway permits outgoing Amprnet -->
Internet traffic but no Internet --> Amprnet traffic, except
in selected (cleared with me) cases.

Notes:
1) A map of major packet nodes served by the gateway is available
via anonymous ftp. See the readme for more info. 2) After
telnetting to n4pcr-1, you can netrom connect to many nodes in the
Los Angles, California area. (This is done with a 4800 baud,
wire-line wormhole to Simi Valley.) 3) The nearest PBBS is n9hsi,
reachable via netrom after telnetting to n4pcr-1. 4) Gracilis
PackeTen switches in order from least to greatest distance from the
gateway: n4pcr-1, k9vxw-1, wa9aek-1, n9gbh-1, kk9h-1, and w9iup-1.
5) You can finger @n4pcr-1 to see who's logged in; you can finger
conf@n4pcr-1 to see who's logged into the conference bridge there.
This works on all PackeTens. 6) I use the IP access code to block
TCP connections from the Internet to 44.x.x.x addresses; all other 33
IP packets are passed. Hence any Internet site can do a traceroute
(or hop check) to n9gbh-1.ampr.org (for instance) to see the radio
path taken. 7) Since I've blocked SMTP connections from the
Internet side of the gateway, I will forward mail addressed as
user%station@ke9yq to local users, but I read it all first and that
introduces delay.

your machine. Just add
`domain add minnie.vk1xwt.ampr.org'

to what you use most often. If you try to use a name
not in your domain.txt, a request will be sent to
minnie, who will hopefully send you an answer. Set
your timeout to 30 seconds until you can determine how
fast the answers come back.
