Alcatel Installs DCS1800 Networks In Germany And Spain Alcatel has installed a pilot DCS1800 network for German operator DeTeMobil in Stuttgart. It has installed a similar network for Spanish operator Telefonica in Barcelona.The German network comprises six different types of radio cell and provides coverage for hand held mobiles. Indoor coverage and repeaters are provided in certain parts of the network.The Spanish network consists of nine basestations, one base station controller and one switch, which is connected to the Telefonica public network. A home location register and operations and maintenance centre have also been provided.
