P3ESN ===== Use is simple, with the phone turned on and connected to LPT1, just type P3ESN [Serial_Number] [/w]. Serial Number is in the format xx/yy/zz/aaaaa where xx=manufacturer code, yy=model, zz=country code, aaaaa=serial. Use /w to write the ESN to the phone EEPROM. You can also use P3ESN without the [/w] swith to calculate the ESN checksum so you can use it to program other NEC phones EEPROMs. Example: P3ESN 02/01/00/12345 /w P3TEST ====== Use it to put the phone into test mode. First turn the phone off, connect it to LPT1 and execute P3TEST. Then Turn the phone on, it should be now on test mode (check it with RCL #). The phone will stay in test mode even if you remove it from the computer port, until you turn it off. P3BACK [ Archivers note: apparently this is also named p3mem.exe - drwho ] ====== Use it to make a backup and/or restore one from the phone memories. Type 'P3BACK filename /r' to make a backup and 'P3BACK filename /w' to restore it. There are some known bugs with this prog, first is that you should clear the phone memory before restoring a backup, use test mode function 39 to do this. Also if you program memories above 69 they stay protected against change when the phone is not in test mode, to erase them put the phone into test mode first. To make the backup I read fixed memory locations on the phone, so it may not work on certain ROM revisions, anyway no harm will happen to your phone, you'll just get some garbage.
