Later Gator by INTERNET SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

Ever been cruising the net, see lots of cool looking links, but didn't have the time to follow them? Maybe you weren't sure they really were cool links, so you didn't want to add them to your bookmark list until you had a chance to check them out. That's where Later Gator comes in. As you run across those cool looking links, cut and paste them into Later Gator, add a comment to help you remember what they were about, and click the "Add" button. Now that cool link is saved for later, added to a list that you can peruse when it's more convenient.

Installation:

Decompress the .zip file to a temporary directory. Run the setup.exe program and follow the on-screen instructions.

The following file(s) are required, but not part of the installation for the floppy disk distribution. You can find these file(s) on-line at numerous locations.

vbrun300.dll

Registration:

Later Gator is shareware, which means you must register it and pay a small fee if you continue to use it. Currently the small fee is $10.00 US. There is no shipping and handling as all distribution is handled over the Internet.

How it works:

When you find a link you want to remember, copy the URL into Later Gator. In Microsoft's Internet Explorer, copy a link location by right clicking on the link and choosing "Copy Shortcut" from the popup menu. For Netscape users, copy a link location by right clicking on the link and choosing "Copy Link Location" from the popup menu. Since Later Gator is intended to run on Windows 95, you can right click on the URL box in Later Gator, and choose "Paste" from the popup box. Click the add button, and you're done. It's that easy! You can also cut and paste into the Comments box using the same method. Once you've copied the URL into Later Gator, click the Add button to save the link. You can remove a link by selecting it from the drop-down list and clicking the Remove button.

Later, when you want to visit the links you've recorded, start Later Gator. Make sure Later Gator knows where your web browser is by setting its location using the Options|Browser Setup menu item. Make sure the browser you select is associated to start .htm files. (If you're not sure, find an .htm file in Windows Explorer, and see if it has the same icon as your web browser. Double clicking on an .htm file should start your browser with the file loaded. If not, check your Windows 95 documentation on how to associate a file type with an application.) Once your browser is set up, click the Browser button. Later Gator will create a web page of your links, start your browser, and load the web page. Assuming you're also connected to the Internet, the links will be active, so just click to go to them.

The File|Save menu option will save all links currently listed, File|Exit and the Quit button also save all links currently listed. Up to 500 links may be saved. Comments may be up to 1000 characters each.
