A.) Program description:
    =====================

WWW Index Wizard V 1.0a   (W3IW)

Index HTML documents effortlessly

WWW Index Wizard automates the indexing of HTML documents
to save the user time and effort.
The way it works is this:
Web pages or other HTML documents are fed into the program,
and it creates either one document, multiple documents, or
a directory tree that includes a full index of every word
in the original documents. Alternatively, the user can
designate words for the Wizard to ignore (e.g., the, a,
or an) or specific keywords to seek out. The index is a
list of the searched words, and each word links directly
to its location (page and chapter) in the original documents.

B.) System requirements:
    =====================

-Microsoft Windows 95 or Win NT (tested on NT 4.0)
-16MB RAM for Win95 32MB for NT
-about 10MB free disk space

C.) Copyright - License - Warranty:

The program is distributed as shareware (see also the shareware license
agreement below)

			  Definition of Shareware

Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it.
If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are required to
register it.

Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and retail software, and the
copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as stated
below. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like retail
authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are
good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of
distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy and distribute
the software, either to all and sundry or to a specific group. For example,
some authors require written permission before a commercial disk vendor may
copy their Shareware.

Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You should find
software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's retail or
Shareware. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs easier, because you
can try before you buy. And because the overhead is lower, prices are lower
also. Shareware has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the
product, you don't pay for it.

G.) Installation Procedure:
    ========================
The installation procedure has been changed in V 1.0a to allow
you to review all the documentation without having to install the
program itself.

Before you can use WWW Index Wizard you have to run the WWW Index Wizard
setup program from Windows so it will work properly on your computer.
You cannot just copy the files from the WWW Index Wizard archive file to
your hard disk. The files in the distribution archive are packed in a
special way to save space.
The setup program unpacks those files and builds them on your working disk.

1. Extract all files from w3iw10a.zip into a temporary location,

2. Review also the other documents such as RelNotes.txt, License.htm etc.

3. If you want to install WWW Index Wizard then extract the
   InstFile.zip archive into a temporary location

4. Run setup.exe (look for setup.exe in the temporary location
   where the files have been extracted to)

5. Setup.exe will guide you through the installation process.

6. After installation you may want to remove the files in the
   temporary location manually.

(We are using the setup kit of Visual Basic 5.0 for the
 installation procedure)

Besides the program w3iw100.exe and some data files the
installation procedure will install VB 5.0 runtime libraries
and Jet 3.5 database access libraries (system files
of the Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 runtime environment)

H.) Unistallation procedure:
    =========================

Open Add/Remove Programs in Settings-Control Panel
then look for an entry like WWW Index Wizard.
Double click it and the program and it's associated
files will be removed.

I.) Getting help:
    ==============

Press the Help button or double click on w3iw100.hlp.

With WWW Index Wizard a context sensitive help will be installed.
Move the mouse pointer above the item in question and press F1 to
get an appropriate help text.

You may also load the file w3iwiz1.html - located in the main
installation directory (default is C:\Program Files\WWW Index Wizard)
into your WWW browser to see a step by step description of the
program.
