Additional Readme Information for Release 1.02
==============================================

Since the product shipped the original publishers (American Radio Education) have gone
away. The product has reverted to the programs author (Michael Crick). Support is now
provided by FAXing to 206-869-0155 or by email at mica@crick.com.

1) Upgrading from Earlier Versions

If you had previously purchased Ham University and would like to enjoy the latest
version (which includes the new EXTRA Level Exams) you may do so without upsetting
the copy protection provided you follow the correct procedure. It is IMPORTANT
that you do NOT erase your old, purchased copy, before you install the new copy.
You can install the new copy over the old copy or in a separate directory.

2) Missing Help Files:

This release does not contain subject help for the General, Advanced, and Extra exams.
The questions and answers are there but not the explanations. These were due to be
produced by ARE but that seems unlikely at this point. Sorry about that.

3) Operating under Windows 95 and Windows NT

We have done some limited checking in these environments. Except for a few minor
details everything works the same. You cannot run without a sound card using
Windows NT but under Windows 95, it not only sounds better but you can also play
PENTODE.

IMPORTANT: If, after installing Windows 95, your original Ham University program
does not run correctly, please re-install the program from the original disk OVER the top
of the original working program. It should then work properly again.

4) Problem with Bad Courier Fonts

Currently Windows NT and Windows 95 are shipping with a courier 12 font that is really
a courier 13 font. This causes a problem in lessons in the SENT/RECD box. If you find
that the text in this box overflows, we have a fix. Just delete the font called Courier 10-
12-15. Do NOT delete the font called New Courier which will be selected instead and
works fine.
