June, 1944 Normandy, France The GREAT CRUSADE has begun! The liberation of Europe is underway! Now, up from the beaches, your combined tank and foot soldier forces are to move to secure a couple of key bridges across a river in the bocage country. The GIs are tired, hungry and at the same time, eager to finish the job started by the invasion, and get back home to the US of A. The Sherman Tanks are slow, prone to break-down, and easy fonder for the sleek, fast-moving, hard hitting panzers of the Werhmacht. But, they are what you have. The Bocage country is great for grapes, wine and deadly ambushes. Machine-Gun nests, Anti-Tank Gun emplacements and Panzerfausts seem to lie in wait at every hedgerow. Watch the cows! If they are grazing near a hedgerow, that usually means there is not an ambush lurking there. Listen to the birds! They do seem to squak more when diesel fumes have been in the air. Keep alert! Secure those bridges! This scenario lasts 75 turns.
