Welcome to WinTunes 1.0 ------------------------- (c) Copyright 1992 By David G. Phelps 4335 Kay Avenue Grand Island, NE 68803 July 1, 1992 Please read this and the help files carefully. WinTunes is capable of some truly powerful musical note manipulation. We want you to get the most from your new program. Before you read this short file I would like to ask a favor. Please upload this Zip to your favorite BBS. I would be most grateful if you could pass this one along. Please leave a comment to the sysop to remove any previous version of WinTunes he may have on his board. If you have any questions, find a bug, or just plain need some help. Please write me at the above address. You will have an answer to your question as soon as I can. All patches and interim updates will be posted on the FILESHACK BBS phone (308)384-1395. This way I can be sure that all of you are getting the correct updates as needed. WinTunes has these files: WinTunes.EXE WinTunes.HLP Order.FRM ReadMe.TXT Save.TUN VBRUN100.DLL (Optionally included) ****All files must be in the same directory for proper program operation. REQUIREMENTS NO Special Hardware Required This program was written in Microsoft Visual Basic. It requires the file VBRUN100.DLL. If you require this file, it is available from most Windows BBS's or from FILESHACK BBS phone (308)384-1395. Make sure it is located in either the same directory as WinTunes.EXE or on your PATH. Unlike most new Multi-Media Standard software, this program allows you to create one voice music with an ordinary PC speaker. Because Windows is a multi-tasking environment and your PC has only one speaker, this program will require exclusive use of the sound capabilities of your system. P.S. Don't forget to let your kids try this program. P.S.S. Try the right mouse button when playing notes. BASIC PROGRAMMERS NOTE You may view the "SAVE.TUN" file and notice that the note syntax is compatible with good old GW-Basic or QuickBASIC Play strings. If you want to use these strings in your own programs, remove the CR-LF at the end of each line and paste the compressed string in your own source code. A subroutine for adding the PLAY command to your Visual Basic program is available by contacting the author at the above address. ($29.95) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, DAVID G.
