Puzzler by R. Lee Woolsey February 1992 Registration Information: This is a ShareWare Application, if you like it and want to continue using it a contribution of $5.00 to the starving programmer appreciation fund (R. Lee Woolsey...) would be appreciated. In exchange for your registration you will be added to my "Wonderful-People-To-Keep-Updated-About-My-Silly- Little-Programs" List. Send to: R. Lee Woolsey P.O. Box 784 Wells, Nevada 89835 The Game: Puzzler is a Windows 3.0 Application written in MS Visual Basic (Requiring VBRUN100.DLL). The system hides any combination of the six game pegs (it may use same color more than once). Guesses (educated or not) are made by dragging the colored "pegs" from the Peg Bin to a "hole" in the current turn area. Pegs may be changed as often as you like... when you are ready to have your guess evaluated press the button. Guesses are evaulated as follows: The right color in the right position gets a Black peg. The right color in the wrong position gets a white peg. Wrong color, wrong position... no peg (grey). This program uses any one of four different evaluation routines (this was necessary to keep me from cheating, by knowing the evaluation sequence!) I frustration gets the best of you, the "Wimp Out" button will display the puzzle solution. (It will also add the maximum number of guesses to your average.) Have fun, live long and prosper, may the force be with you, long live the shire! Questions or comments: Since this is my first attempt at a VB program, any comments would be welcome. If anyone is interested I would be glad to share the source code... some of it is NOT the most effecient code ever devised! Send any comments or suggestions to the above address or CIS# 71700,777.
