I sat two hours and assembled this list, so you better read this (!): Future plans for TakeTracker 1.x: - MIDI support - FM music - Support for other soundcards (just need the info first) - New screen resolution (360x400 ??) - Sampling from all supported soundcards (finished with GUS sampling) - EMS - Stereo SB player - EXEcutable module save - Mute/unmute channels (my biggest problem is to figure out WHERE to turn off channels) - Direct support for modules in ZIP archives TakeTracker 1.3 - What is planned: - 80x25 text mode (but requires a VGA though) - Display 6 channels of music data at the same time - Easier to use: - Pulldown menu - Status-bar (a cool one) - Up to 32 channels of music on all supported soundcards - Same sample-editor as TakeTracker 1.0 - Using the new SEM format (if we don't reconsider, and use an already existing format) TakeTracker 2.0 - What to expect: - Full 32 channel support - Higher screen resolution - New interface (ProTracker 3.0 (amiga) style) - 16 bit samples/sampling - Indirect support of other formats (instead of a bunch of converters) - Save of other formats; S3M, 669, MTM (not!) - Compression on the samples -> the new SEM format (under development) Other things that might be included one day: - More external fonts - Font editor (will be released separately) - XPlay for Norton Commander4.0 v2.0 Things that has been asked for, but will NOT be implemented (at least not in version 1.0) (but these are most unserious) - "Real" notesheets - Super VGA resolution (1600x1280x48bit) - 128 and 256 channel mixing routines for both SB and GUS (any higher?) - 24 bit scopes (640x480x16m) (maybe one day!) - A low-level programming language to create advanced songorders - Built-in word processor to edit song-comments (he was talking about document compability with WinWord -> suppport for TrueType fonts, colors, margins, piccys and so on... :-) - A sound-format where you could also link GIF's into module... (came from Twaddler :) - 3D real-time HDTV scopes. - Support for graphics tablets The soon-coming versions: - Better sample editor - GUS DMAtransfer (at least Twaddler hopes so) - Sampling (if we're not gonna save this for the registered version) - PATch load (or let's perhaps wait until the registered version is ready) Updated 16.
