I have been asked by many people to add features to BPM which
would, in effect, add database capabilities to BPM. I am not,
never have been, and probably never will be, interested in adding
these features. My intent has always been to produce a log file
which could then be processed by true file or database
manipulators.

There are many, many, many database programs out there, some
available from whichever source provided you with BPM. I have
chosen to "support" 2 programs, in that I provide instructions
for converting the BPM logfile to a database in these programs
formats. The two database programs are PC-File and File Express.
Both of these programs are most likely available from the same
place you obtained BPM. Both are shareware programs, meaning
that (unlike BPM), you must register the program and pay for it
after a reasonable evaluation period. Both programs are capable
of sorting, printing and rearranging the BPM logfile, and much,
much more.

The File Express BPM database should be located in a subdirectory
called FE. The instructions to perform the import are in the
text file called IMPORT.DOC within that directory.

The PC-File BPM database should be located in a subdirectory
called PCF. The instructions to perform the import are in the
text file called IMPORT.DOC within that directory.

I generally do not perform database functions on my logfile, so I
cannot reliably recommend File Express over PC-File or vice
versa. I tend to print the log file as is, using the compressed
print mode of my printer. If I need to view the log onscreen, I
usually use LIST, by Vernon Buerg (also probably available
wherever you obtained BPM). If I need to sort the log, I usually
use SORTF, also by Vernon Buerg. I only used File Express and
PC-File long enough to create the databases distributed with BPM
and to make sure I could import a comma delimited log file and a
fixed field log file.
