To all of you CALAMUS(c) users, here is another font in the "Keep the Fonts PD collection". I hope that everyone else follows the example and uploads thier creations for all to use, and not upload MULTITUDES OF PARTIAL FONTS OF QUESTIONABLE QUALITY after beeing bitten by the "GREAT GREED BUG". (Allen, just recieved your Broadway font SET and the fonts look great. Very much worth the money. It is of the quality a font must be to be considered as worthy for reimbursement.) Are you listening, Sol????????????? Expect to see the following in the hopefully near future.... (I only have limited time to work on the fonts but once you start you do get this 'craving'!!!) Souvenir Medium Italics (actual Italics, not just the slanted in the first upload group)(3fonts.arc) Zapf Chancery Medium Italics look a-like (the rest of the letters) (p.s. almost there!) (Even closer!!) Zipper look a-like Harlow look a-like (named Fab Fifties on PageStream) D O N E !!! (P.S. Jay's font for PageStream was not used in any way to produce this font, another source was used.....although I must say a font converter would have saved a lot of time. I could have been working on another font instead. After all, If you purchase a font in one format, you should have the right to use it in another format. HINT, HINT!!) (And vice-versa) Herkules look a-like Clarendon look a-like Trooper look a-like Nathan, if you are reading this, The name is spelled differently than the one I based it on, and a few characters are slightly changed.... That's the best CompuGraphics is going to get from me!!!!! The order the fonts get finished is in direct proportion to which one my very talented wife needs for her very busy Home-Based Typesetting Business, "Mega Type". Again a special thanks to Carl Stanford for setting the proper precedent we ALL can follow when uploading fonts. Thanks for the email comments and encouragement from those who responded to earlier fonts. This font ended up taking a lot more work and time than expected, so hopefully the results were worth it, and the next font should appear much quicker......... For comments, complaints, or suggestions my GEnie address is DFTURNOCK ********************************************************************** 5 August, 1990 Here is the Harlow (Harloe)font converted for Pagestream. Since it is so slanted and curvey it was difficult to decide on the spacing, so you may want to do some manual kerning on this. Many thanks to Robert C. Weidner for some improvements on the printer font conversion. The Fontverter 1.4 program written by Don Turnock was used as the first step in this Calamus-to-Pagestream process, then the PD Publishing Partner editor from Soft Logic, and finally the Pagestream Font Editor (shareware from Soft Logic $25).
