I have tried various combinations of settings in Outside and have tried placing Outside, MiNT and other software in a variety of orders in the auto-folder. I have also tried various MiNT versions (1.12.5, 1.12.6 and 1.14). No matter what I do, however, the two just don't get along with oneanother. The machine often hangs when drawing outline fonts (via NVDI 4.11), but even if I disable NVDI the problems still occur at random. Generally the machine will just hang for no apparent reason. Generally the frequency of crashes is roughly inversely proportional to the MiNT timeslice size, so I can reduce the problem by increasing the timeslices to a very large value. The problem still occurs too much for comfort, though, and with timeslices of several seconds each software feels very sluggish. I also found that reducing the amount of virtual RAM to less than 8Mb reduces the frequency of crashes. Disabling MiNT causes the problems to disappear almost completely. I have also been unable to get Outside working at all with Bigdos - When Bigdos is running, the machine just reboots immediately after Outside has loaded. I have an Atari TT030 with 4Mb ST RAM, 4Mb TT RAM and a 850Mb Quantum SCSI HDD. I have tried AHDI 6.06 and HDDriver 5.1, but the problems always occur. Any help on getting Outside to work with MiNT and/or Bigdos would be much appreciated. --- SNIP --- Feel free to shorten it a bit if it's too long. Please include my email address (mbecroft@tos.ak.planet.gen.nz) so that someone who may be able to help can contact me directly. BTW, I've sent the original InterActive registration letters and discs for Kandinsky and Freedom to you, so you should receive them soon. -- Mario Becroft Auckland, New Zealand mbecroft@tos.ak.planet.gen.nz _ http://www.pl.net/user/mario/ o( ) Tariland: http://www.pl.net/user/mario/tariland/ / /\
