** PD/Shareware review / 242 words ** Unofficial Texel HYP * ON READER DISK * 77% ** RD11.IMG here ** Documentation, Freeware, all Ataris Author: Nick Ripley Email: nick@iipmail.demon.co.uk http://www.iipmail.demon.co.uk In AC#9 we covered Nick's unofficial Papyrus ST-Guide hypertext and in the same genre Nick has now turned his attention to ASH's Texel v1.6 (r5). Although the German release included a hypertext no English hypertext has been released. Furthermore there were some extra features which made it into the release version which were not covered in the printed manual so the hypertext covers these, corrects a few mistakes in the manual and includes some simple business examples for demonstration purposes. The HYP included in the latest German distribution of Texel (currently version 2.1) weighs in at 114Kb and covers every function and menu option. Nick's HYP isn't nearly as comprehensive - around one sixth the size of the original and, because it doesn't follow the exact layout of the German HYP, not many of the context sensitive links remain available. However keyword searches through Texel are possible, and the index can be called via Texel. The unofficial Texel_E.HYP package has two aims: ** UL ** * To reproduce certain essential items covered in the manual, enabling help to be available from the desktop. * To provide some basic instruction and examples on the use of spreadsheets in a business environment. ** /UL ** Texel_E.HYP fulfils these aims admirably and, since it's Freeware, all Texel users should get hold of a copy. ** italics ** Joe Connor ** /italics **
