When you run "COLUMS_D.PRG", the main menu appear with the followings options :

- Info about COLUMS : Differents informations about the development team.
- Difficulty        : Choice of the difficulty level.
- Sound             : Choice between "SOUNDTRACK" and "EFFECTS" (Samples 
                      for some of the differents actions in the game).
- Play the game now : Start playing.
- Highscores        : Stick up of the 10 best score.
- Exit to desktop   : Back to the GEM desktop.

To chose an option in the main menu you have to use the up and down arrow 
keys and press the spacebar to select one, or connect a joystick and select 
an option by pressing the fire buton. When you select the "Play the game now" 
option, the playing screen appears. The game goal is to line three pieces or 
more in one of the eight possible dirrections.

There is nine specials pieces and eight normals ones. The nine specials 
ones are:

- The Question Mark : This piece is unknown until it's put on.
- The Star          : It stop the circular permutation of the pieces and
                      when it's put on the others, it goes in the lower part
                      of the screen, pulling up the other pieces.
- The Floppy Disk   : It explode all the pieces in the eight dirrection arround
                      its.
- The Wall          : It's an indesturctible piece until you line the thre MCS 
                      letters.
- The MCS letters   : You have to line those three letters to destoy the wall,
                      but they might be line in a way that you could read MCS.

- The Smile         : When you put it on another piece, all the similar pieces
                      in the game screen are changed to a different one.
- The Bubble        : when there is five pieces on its, it explode.

The scrore is computed like this :
  (NB_PIECES^2)*10*DIFFICULTY*NB_SUCCESSIVES_EXPLOSIONS

Each Wall bring 3219 points.

If you empty all the screen you have a 30123 points bonus.

The piece moving is made with the left, right and down arrow keys, or
with the joystick. The circular permutation is made by striking the spacebar
or the joystick's fire buton.
During the games you could use the "P" key to pause the game.
