* Soulman Bootro 1.0 * - ATARI Falcon 030 / Mega ST/E / TT boot selector - 100% Pure Pascal Code - Release date: 21.4.1995 There are a lot of boot selectors flying around in the Atari software world. But this boot selector is different. It's flexible, easy-to-use, fast and it looks good ( I think so :-) ). The whole package consists of the following files: S_BOOTRO.PRG - the program for your AUTO folder BOOTRO.DAT - an example batch file README.TXT - this text FORMAT.TXT - description of the batch file structure RULES.TXT - rules for creating/debugging your BOOTRO.DAT It is PUBLIC DOMAIN, as long as it remains unaltered. ( That means you can copy it legally BUT I give no warranty that this software doesn't damage your hardware/software, your brain, your nerves etc. ) --- The program ( S_BOOTRO.PRG ), which should be the physically first file in your AUTO folder ( move all AUTO folder files out / copy S_BOOTRO.PRG in it / move the files back ), loads a batch file: BOOTRO.DAT. It shows the options you defined in this batch file. After you made your choice, the program will execute the options. That's all...BUT the structure of the batch file is quite complex. You need an ASCII editor to create and edit the batch file. Just read the files BOOTRO.DAT, FORMAT.TXT and RULES.TXT and you'll understand ( I hope so :-) ). --- How to use S_BOOTRO.PRG: There are three special keys, independent from the defined options: [ RETURN ] - Save configuration as BOOTRO.CNF SPACE - Execute options, continue [ ESC ] - Continue without executing options --- Note: - This boot selector was especially designed for newer ATARIs, which boot in HIGH RESOLUTION ( at least 640 * 400 ) such as the FALCON 030 ( depends on your NVRAM configuration! ), the Mega ST/E, the TT etc. ! - Disactivate the memory test if you can ( => Falcon NVRAM ) ! - If something is really going wrong and the program crashes: Hold [Control] while your Atari is booting and disactivate/rename/delete S_BOOTRO.PRG . --- Copy the file BOOTRO.DAT in the root directory of the drive where S_BOOTRO.PRG is ( yep, the program recognizes the actual drive; you don't have to boot from C:\ ) and start S_BOOTRO.PRG to get a first impression of how the program works. Have fun and be veeeeeeeery lazy by using my bootro...!!! :-) This software will only be supported in the future if there is enough response SO * Contact me for any legal reason * Patrick Berzbach Yorckstraáe 67 10965 Berlin -GERMANY- Phone number: +49 - 030 - 786 38 30 You can also contact me per modem: - MausNet: Patrick Berzbach @B2 - 'Daten Pavillon Berlin' ( +49 - 030 - 622 26 36 ) : Patrick Berzbach - 'GoreZone' ( +49 - 048 - 416 069 ) : Soulman Ciao!
