A NEW 'USER TO USER' INITIATIVE =============================== This new program has been designed to provide a forum for InShape users to share their knowledge and experience. Now you and your fellow InShape users will benefit if you know about a special tip or trick. And while sharing your insight, you can earn some valuable credits or points. 2. /// InShape in detail! SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCE CAN BE REWARDING ======================================== There will be two different ways how you can accumulate credits or points: a) you can upload your InShape Image Map Files (*.IIM), InShape Scene Files (*.ISC), InShape Object Files (*.IOB), InShape Surface Files (*.ISF), InShape Template Files (*.ITP), or InShape Path Files (*.IPA), into the InShape Library #23 where they will be accessed by the Project Administrator. Once they have been checked and verified, they will be released into a public library. All submitted entries should contain a short description to enable other users to make the most of your contributions. See section 3 & 4 for a detailed list of criteria, compensation and credit ranges for the corresponding InShape files. b) or you may submit projects. Projects are ASCII (or DTP) files describing a problem and its solution or providing additional information to clarify/enhance an existing solution. Such project files must follow certain rules and guidelines as described in section 5 & 7. There are three levels of projects, and each has a designated credit range which may, at the project administrator's discretion, be exceeded for outstanding achievements. Refer to section 6 for more information. 3. /// InShape in detail! CRITERIA FOR UPLOADING INSHAPE FILES ==================================== InShape Image Map Files (*.IIM) ------------------------------- For 24bit True Color rendered IIM files: Minimum resolution: 160 x 100 Minimum Quality: -Photo- for small images, -Medium- (> 320 x 200) Type: Raytraced, Phong rendered, Gouraud rendered. File sizes: less than 400 KB compressed. Rating: Highest rating will be applied according to type, difficulty and complexity. For 1bit Duochrome and 8bit Greyscale IIM images: Minimum resolution: 64 x 64 File sizes: less than 400 KB compressed. Rating: Highest rating will be applied according to usefulness, originality and complexity. InShape Scene Files (*.ISC) ------------------------------- File sizes: less than 400 KB compressed. Rating: Highest rating will be applied according to type, difficulty, originality and complexity. InShape Object Files (*.IOB) ------------------------------- File sizes: less than 400 KB compressed. Rating: Highest rating will be applied according to type, difficulty, originality and complexity. Conversions: You must respect the copyright of others if you plan to convert objects from another format/author. Please state clearly the title holder of the objects you intend to convert. Converted objects you created yourself may be awarded a higher rating than simple conversions of available or PD objects. InShape Surface Files (*.ISF) ------------------------------- Format: Please provide at least a raytraced image (min. 160 x 100, PHOTO QUALITY) of the surface material you submit. We recommend that you use the DEF_SURF.ZIP file (available in the InShape library) to render this image of your own surface definition. For further instructions, please refer to the documentation in the DEF_SURF.ZIP file. Rating: Highest rating will be applied according to applicability, availability of similar materials, originality and complexity. InShape Template Files (*.ITP) ------------------------------- InShape Path Files (*.IPA) ------------------------------- Format: Please include a detailed description of example applications if you intend to U/L template or path files. 4. /// InShape in detail! CREDIT RANGES FOR UPLOADING INSHAPE FILES ========================================= Uploading: may earn you: InShape Image Map Files (*.IIM) up to 20 points InShape Scene Files (*.ISC) up to 15 points InShape Object Files (*.IOB) up to 10 points InShape Surface Files (*.ISF) up to 5 points InShape Template Files (*.ITP) up to 4 points InShape Path Files (*.IPA) up to 3 points The administrator will record the points earned and notify the author(s) and Cybercube. The decision of the administrator is final. Uploading of seperate items that are part of either an existing InShape Scene or Object will not be rewarded. PROJECT GUIDELINES ================== Before you start working on a certain project, please consider submitting a project proposal to the administrator. Submit your proposal either by e-mail or upload it into the InShape library #23. The project administrator will determine the need and applicability of your project. Approved projects will then be eligible for compensation. The administrator will also designate the project level and possible compensation range from based on the submitted material. All projects submitted to the administrator will be checked for accuracy and clarity before project points are awarded. Suggestions of titles and topics for such projects can be discussed in the InShape topic. All approved and credited projects will become the property of Cybercube Research Ltd. 6. /// InShape in detail! PROJECT LEVELS AND CREDIT RANGES ================================ Level One Projects up to 15 points ----------------------------------------- An ASCII file describing a problem and solution OR providing additional information to clarify an existing solution or explanation. This file will follow the project requirements as described in section 7. Level Two Projects up to 30 points ----------------------------------------- An ASCII file describing and solving (or supplying a workaround) for a problem not described in the manual. This file will follow the project requirements as described in section 7. Level Two projects should also be accompanied by some example InShape files to better illustrate the issue and/or solution. Level Three Projects up to 60 points ------------------------------------------ A Calamus or PageStream DTP file which describes a problem and solution, or an improvement on a given explanation, or an improved workaround on an existing procedure. This file will follow the project requirements as outlined in section 7. Level Three projects MUST be accompanied by some example InShape files to better illustrate the issue and/or solution. The administrator will record the points earned and notify the author(s) and Cybercube. The decision of the administrator is final. Uploading of separate items that are part of an existing or previous project will not be rewarded.
