                    INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

INTRODUCTION.

The Color Commander Color Visualizer has been developed over
the past several years as a means of SEEING what paint looks
like on home exterior and interiors. This is not an exact
representation due to limitations in color reproduction
technology. However you can get a real good idea of what a
color will look like, especially on the outside of your house,
office, or even your car!

System Requirements

Processor -> 386 processor is recommended.
Memory -> 512 KBytes of main memory and 1.5 MBytes of Expanded Memory
DisK Space -> 5.5MB of disk space. You'll need 8.5MB total to do
              the installation.
Mouse      -> Microsoft Compatable
Video -> High Color (32,000 colors) capable VGA boards with
              VESA driver.

INSTALLATION

1. After you've unzipped the wrapper (which you had to do to get
this README file), execute the INSTALL batch file. The format
is

        Install "Destination Disk"

For example:

        Install C:

2. The VESATEST program will run during installation to see if
you've got your VESA driver loaded and if it supports the High
Color modes. If your VESA driver is not loaded or if it doesn't
support High Color Mode 0x110 you'll get the appropriate error
message. Some Video cards have the VESA drivers in hardware, so
you don't have to load them. Others are in software. Look for
an executable file (*.com or *.exe) with VESA in its name in the
software that came with your video card. If it isn't there, you
can try the manufacturer's bulletin board.

3. Use DOS command MEM to see if you've 1.5 MBytes of expanded
memory. If not, make sure EMM386 is loaded in your CONFIG.SYS
and that you've not disabled EMS via the NOEMS parameter.

USING THE PROGRAM.

To run the program set your directory to \COLORCOM and enter
COLORCOM. You'll find yourself in the model selection screen.
See file INSTRUCT.DOC for more info.
