Sunday. 3am. A few friends of mine have told me it was insane writing editorials at such hours. Nonsense! They don't know what life is all about. This time we have a small disk, mainly because of the size of the programs. Good games and applications usually take a whole lot of space. If needed, we will publish an issue on two disks. Not a problem. For a start, we have Dave Smith's musical entry - Equaliser, which provides coders with a good AMAL routine for displaying a good looking equalizer. Try changing the music bank with a different MOD piece. Cute. Next is a well known brain game (it can be found in truckstops) called Pegs. In this game you have to clear a cross shaped board of nasty little pegs. Mastering this game is difficult. Leaving only one peg on the board will crown you as a master of an art :). This disk's highlight is the Knight's Tour winning entry. I'm not going to talk a lot about it right now, so I'll only say it is awesome. Look for more details under the Knight's Tour menu. Also, as you probably could see, we are moving toward a standard graphical user interface (GUI, pronounced like gooey) program. This GUI program uses a small database to enable easy disk control. Until today, AmoNER was delayed in being distributed because we wrote a new GUI program for each issue. This method allows us to create a new disk in a few hours. Hallelujah! Well folks, that is all for now. Keep sending us as many programs as possible! Also, send us any comments that you have about AmoNER. This will helps us improve each disk. Mailing addresses can be found in the AmoNER.DOC file on this disk in the Editor directory. Bye!
