Here are the policy guidelines for contributing stuff to the Amoner PD
project magazine.

1) What can be contributed?

   Well, we want everything you can give us concerning AMOS,
from software to gossip.  However there are a few rules here:

a) Software: We will publish software only under Public-Domain,
ShareWare and TestWare ideas. What are those? Well...:

  Public Domain software is programs which the author gives
permission to distribute and copy anywhere without requesting any
previous permission and without charging money.

  ShareWare is programs which may be copied freely, but, if you start
making a regular use of the program, you are required to pay the author.

  TestWare is programs which are pre-releases of a bigger program. They
come as an example of the program's abilities but contain only a
portion of the complete version.  In order to get the complete version
you have to pay the author.  The TestWare program can be copied without
charge.

  We will not publish any commercial program.

b) Articles: Make sure the articles are yours :). Keep the language
clean and your article clear.  They will be checked for grammar and
improper spelling, but we are not professional editors, so do not
expect miracles or take us for granted!  8)

c) Technical Notes: We will be more than happy if you can supply your
programs with technical notes which explain what the program does and
how it works.  Also, we prefer source and not complied programs simply
because this magazine is meant to help AMOS users write better code and
enjoy the complete program.

Well, that's it :).  We might add some stuff in the future.

2) Rejecting programs:  We will try to publish everyone, from novices to
experts, to make the Amoner a magazine that fills the need for a large
society of AMOS users.  Of course, we will have to reject some of the
material if it's vulgar, bug-ridden, or we get swamped with programs
(I pray for that day!)  :)

  Anyway, don't be ashamed to send anything.  As stated in the AMOS
manual: "Don't worry if your programing is a little rough.  If your
ideas are good enough, you could have a real future as a professional
games writer..."

3) Sending files to both Amoner and the Official AMOS PD Lib in the
United Kingdom: Ah, now this is a touchy subject.  Usually, Public
Domain software is Public Domain and can be distributed everywhere.
However, we feel it might be redundant and maybe an insult to the
Official PD Lib if we publish stuff already found on their disks. 
Therefore, until we receive some response over this question from
Mandarin Software, you are requested not to send us files which can
already be found on the AMOS Official PD Lib. On the other hand, feel
free to send Mandarin software stuff which was already published here.
However, we would appreciate it if you added a note saying
that your program has already been distributed on an Amoner PD disk.

  Oh, we almost forgot.  All Amoner Magazines will be sent to Mandarin
Software.  So, you can be sure that everything you publish here will be
looked upon by Mandarin.  Well, at least we hope...

4) Copyright: Well, again from the AMOS manual: "It is very important
that you acknowledge AMOS in your programs using a phrase such as
"Written By John Smith using AMOS," and, where possible, include the
"AMOS sprite"
 
  We think that's more than fair.  Mandarin gave us a great programming
language, so this is the least we can do to repay it.

So, here we go and you should do the same in your programs:

Amoner is a Public Domain Magazine about and written with AMOS,
the greatest language in the world (IOHO) from Mandarin software. 
Before we get carried away, here is something completely different:

5) Ok, Ok, I got it all. Who do I send my Program/Article to?

  Ah, now that is a good question!  Well, it is very likely that you
have bitnet/e-mail connection.  So, if your program does not contain
memory banks, send it via e-mail to one of the three addresses given
below. If it does contain few files or memory banks, lharc and uuencode
the program before sending it to us via e-mail.  If you don't have
any of those (lharc, uuencode) contact us by e-mail and we will explain
to you what you have to do.
