Exit these Docs by clicking on square at the top left of the screen. Exit a program by pressing + C to return to menu selector. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 1. THINGAMAJIG. This is a jigsaw type game for young children. In the demo you have access to one of the puzzles, the titles of the others are shadowed and you will not be able to see them. Click on the name of the `Silly Cow' puzzle and it will load. Click on the piece that appears in the large box at the top right of the screen and it will be put onto your pointer. Take it to the puzzle grid and click again to place the piece. If you are wrong, it will stay on the pointer. To change a piece without placing it, click right mouse. The full version has 24 puzzles to choose from all of which can be done as `easy' with the grid visible, or `hard' which has no grid. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 2. MARVIN THE MARTIAN This is a maze game where you have to help Marvin to rescue his girlfriend Meryl. To do this he has to go around 15 mazes collecting treasures and keys. You must avoid the Beasties and watch your energy level. This is a single level demo of the game, in the full version you are given a password at the end of each level which allows you to start from a higher level. We have also written a book "Amos in Action" which is published by Kuma Books Ltd, in which we explain exactly how Marvin was written. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 3 WORK & PLAY Work & Play is a 3 section educational package. In this Demo, you are able to view screens from two programs and have a limited turn at the third. Fun Times Tables is a board game which teaches the multiplication tables. If a player lands on a coloured square, he/she has to answer a multiplication sum before going on. 1 or 2 players, each can play at a different abilty level to allow children of different ages to play together. Let's go Shopping! is set in a shop, the aim is to complete sums based on the theme of shopping - eg If Apples cost 8p each, how many can I buy for 48p? Click Clock will help a child to tell the time on both an analogue and digital clock. You can have a go at this game until a timer takes you out of the program. First of all, click on the clock you want to use, then set it to the time shown at the top of the screen using the buttons underneath each clock. Click on `Set Time' to tell the computer you're ready. Watch for the mouse trying to get at the cheese without waking the cat! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 4. FLOWER POWER This is a game which we wrote just for fun. Help the gardener to grow some prize flowers for the local flower show. In the full game there are ten levels to play, test yourself on just one here. Control is with the joystick. Use the fire button to pick up the trowel, dig the earth, plant the seeds and make sure that the seedlings are well watered as they grow! As well as this, there are bugs which come along to try and pinch your plant. Scare them away by moving towards them and pressing fire!
