The Windows

Here's a break down of the gadgets and what they do.

As well as the Buttons themselves, there are three gadgets at the bottom of the main display window. Store, Quit and Cfg. Store is used to save out the current configuration loaded (named differently to avoid confusion with the save button on the prefs window which saves your settings). Quit is pretty much self-explanatory and Cfg will flip the display to pop up a preferences display where there are several options for customising how Buttonz works.

Debug - Set this checkmark if you wish for debug mode to be on. You can send me the text this mode generates if you're having problems with Buttonz as it may help me sort them out. The file will be in your Temp directory which you can configure on this page as well.
Backdrop - Set this to make Buttonz start up as a backdrop window, meaning it will paste itself onto the Workbench screen rather than being a moveable window.
NoBorders - Set this to remove the borders of the Buttonz window.
Snapshot - Set this checkmark and Buttonz will store the X & Y positions of the window along with the other preferences.
Active - Set this if you would like the Buttonz window to become activated when it first loads up. Some people use function keys on their Workbench and don't like to click outside of windows every time they first boot up.
CX Hotkey - Here you can set the hotkey that you can control Buttonz with. It uses the RAlt key and whatever you put into this text box.
TempDir - Click on this button to select a temp directory where Buttonz will generate the files it needs. You will find the files to send me with debug information in this drawer if debug is switched on.

At the bottom of the prefs window are another 3 gadgets. About, Save and Main. About will pop up some program information, Save will store the current preference settings (Buttonz uses Tooltypes for this - see later documentation) and Main will return you to the Buttons display.

Buttonz also has a few keyboard shortcuts which you can use.

  Pressing 'H' will pop up a help window giving brief details on the keyboard
               controls and how to configure it.

  Pressing 'S' will pop up the save config requester.

  Pressing 'L' will load the startup configuration (buttonz.bcfg)

  Pressing 'Q' or 'esc' will quit the program.

You can press keys 0 to 9 to launch the appropriate button instead of clicking on it if you wish.
