What is Buttonz?
Buttonz - developed using Blitz 2.1 - is a full-featured alternative to
tools like ToolsDaemon & ToolsManager. Maybe it's not a direct competitor,
but it's designed to operate in a different, and very intuitive way, and is
about as stable as stable gets.
Buttonz creates a 10 button bank gui (along with a few control gadgets at
the bottom of the window - more on these later) which can each be
configured to launch your favourite programs. Of course having just 10
buttons would be a bit limited to Amiga users who are used to much more and
like to have access to everything all of the time, so multiple configs are
available by launching into sub-menus from buttons if so desired as can
clearly be seen by the example configuration files within the Buttonz
archive.
Buttonz was created as a system friendly commodity with all the functions
that other commodities have and deliberatly uses its own small font for the
gui display to make it as unobtrusive as possible. If you're not using it
then just stab the hotkey to make it dissapear until you need it again.
Ideal for the people like me who prefer an unobtrusive Workbench.
