Kalender V1.3
=============

I'll try to make a short 'readme' because I know the problem reading long
'readme's. I know that I have some problems with my English, so please close
one eye ;) You should read this whole 'readme' before you start the macro.

Systemrequirements:
-------------------

OS2.0 or higher
TurboCalc V3.0 or higher

This is new (V1.3):
-------------------

** Now the macro is very fast, about 45 seconds.
** The events are now on an extra sheet!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
                            IMPORTANT:

Kalender_Macro.TCD is a German macro sheet! I don't know if you see it in
German or in English after loading. Also it is nessesary to change some cells
in column A, as there are:

cell A2: ...("Please enter year (JJJJ):";"Year";#B2)
cell A30 to cell A36: the first two letters of the weekday (Mo, Th...)
cell A55 to cell A66: the name of the month

Last but not least you have to change some of the event entries in the
eventsheeet 'Kalender_Data.TCD'.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

First there was the idea to have a calendar in form of 12 printed large
sheeets. Tied together and pinned at a wall or so, you can enter private
events and even these you don't know now, but later (like invitations, dates
and so on). But the result didn't pleased me. Some events are steady (like
birthdays, feasts) and had also to be entered after printout. So I modified
the macro and there it is:

Kalender_Macro.TCD!

Before I tell you how to use Kalender_Macro.TCD, you should know a little bit
of using macros with TurboCalc. While programming Kalender_Macro.TCD, a lot
of experiments I needed to realize it. This is because several of the macros
didn't do that like discribed and what I expected. Also, it seems that
TurboCalc has several of covered errors.

1. How to use Kalender_Macro.TCD.
---------------------------------

First you should know that you must not insert or delete lines or columns in
this macro. If you do so, you would disturb the macro. So, take great care!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
                            IMPORTANT:

Both files 'Kalender_Macro.TCD' and 'Kalender_Data.TCD' should be in the same
drawer! It is also neccesary to alter cell A4 in the macro for correct full
pathname (depending on your system). Don't forget to save back the macro!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.1 Entering events.
--------------------

In the sheet named 'Kalender_Data.TCD' you can enter your private events by
the day and the event. There is no need to sort the events for any month! This
will be done by the macro. Please accept the rule, that only feasts (like
christmas or so) must! have the color red for the day and event. This is
because to change the day in the calendar to red colour and italic-style if
the day falls on a workday. Movable feasts must be edited every year. Leave
the days of other events in black color, the event itself can have any other
printable color (see the example). There is no need of a special end for each
month, the macro stops copying events automatically at an empty event. If you
have entered all events don't forget to save it back.

1.2 Starting the macro.
-----------------------

The only thing to do is to start the macro via the menu. If your calendar is
made, a file-requester appears and you can save the calendar. Sometimes it
happend to me that the requester was not visible (TurboCalc-Problem?), so I
had to click the windows to background.

1.3 Printing the calendar.
--------------------------

I figured out that TurboCalc has problems with the preview-function, margin
settings in the printlayout, margin mark on the sheet, and so on. So, maybe
this can become a problem since you use another system-configuration than me.
Maybe some experience must be made before you have the best result. It is not
the best way to check this using the preview function of TurboCalc. Try a
printout like this: Mark cell area A1:H76 and do a printout. You should know
that the left and right margin is set to 0.5 cm, top and bottom margin to 0.0
cm via the macro (see cell A6) to use the whole width of a DINA4 papersheet!
If you use another papersheet or the margins of your printer are greater, you
have to change first via menue the configuration of your printer and sheet. If
you are missing the right border of the sunday column in the printout, try to reduce the
column width of the first small! column (column A in month JANUAR) by the
smallest possible step (0.125).If the first column reached the smallest value
and the printout is not correct yet, you have to reduce all 'daycolumns' of
the first month by .125 and maybe increase the first column by small values.
So, if you think you found the right values for the columns width, change them
to all months. The margin marks on the sheet should be just on the right
border of all sunday columns, anyway (I hope so). If you are sure to have the
right collumn width's, you can change the column witdh for the first column of
each month in cell A10 and the column width for each day in A7 in the macro.
Maybe you also want to change the printformat in cell A6. Do not forget to
save back the macro!! Surely, this procedure is not very comfortable, but the
only way to get a correct printout with your private system configuration. It
is only at first using so trublesome (I had the same problems!).

Last words.

I hope there are no errors in the macro and description and you will enjoy
this macro. If there is any question, please send me an EMail.

Oh yes, the entered events are for the year 1997.
