IBROWSE SCREEN GRABS (IFF 256 colour images)
********************

There are 4 screen grabs from my first session with the IBrowse WWW
Amiga Browser (BETA demo version).

These grabs demonstrate such (NetScape) things as:

o Centering of Images and Text

o Transparent .gif and .png

o Background colour and images

o Font Scaling

*******************************************************************

The demo version can open a maximum of 4 simultanious network
connections, making it easily 10 to 20 times faster than AMosaic at
accessing the 'net. The full version can open 8 I think.:)

You can scroll the page and read it while the images are coming in,
abort a page load at any stage. There are options to not only view html
source, but to save it as well (from menus).

The fastlinks at the top of the window are configurable and can be
placed horizontally or vertical on the Browser border along with the
Navigation button panel.

Mimetypes and Mailcap are handled internally by a very easy to use
config program. Links can have what ever colour you like as can text if
the html on the page has a descriptor for text colour (text on a
received page is not normally configurable by the user).

When iconified the images return to their former state.(yeah!)

Images and html are cached locally, so backing up on a few pages is
limited by the speed of your Amiga and you get the full imaged page to
boot.

Forms and Tables are disabled in the demo version.
********************************************************************

These are just a few of the things I have noticed in the 3 hours I have
had this demo.

The software uses a "module" approach to things which Amosaic does
internally, such as ftp, gopher, telnet etc. One lib is supplied with
the demo version (http.library) and I presume the others are standard if
you buy the commercial full version.

You can get your own demo version from
http://www.omnipresence.com/IBrowse/

You will need MUI3.1 installed and working as well as the usual
datatypes you use for AMosaic. OS3.X is also required for a pleasant
experience.

Guess what I want for Christmas this year? :)

BTW I think NetScape now has a rival on the Amiga. All IBrowse needs
now is a Plug-In API and we too will have VRML, Java applets and
anything else you can write a library for.

Just when I was losing faith in Amiga InterNet software IBrowse is
released. Mr Stefan Burstroem I salute you!

Have you Amosaic and it's *still* crashing on forms pages? Well set your
stack to 500000 in the icon and restart it - it stopped it crashing for
me and it's a lot more useful now (well at least until a full IBrowse is
released).

Have a good Christmas & New Year.
