Am I correct in assuming that C-net doesn't notify the receiver
about non-private msgs addressed to him, like it does for private mail?

When reading public mail addressed to you, does it:
1) Check each msg online
2) Keeps a file of pointers to your mail as senders write it.
Big difference when you have 20,000 msgs online to search through.

#2 is the way to do it correctly.
(For Fidonet, Usenet, local public, local private, ALL msgs addressed
to you.) Who DOESN'T want a fast way to get ALL your mail?

BBS-PC!/BBX and others do it as #1.
Starnet/Paragon and others do it as #2.

I can't add certain new VOTE topics.
1) Your Favorite TV Show
2) Your Favorite Color
3) Your Favorite Food
4) Your Favorite Toy
are impossible together.

1) Best software/hardware
2) Election 1992: Your opinions
3) *** Must Vote ***
are all impossible. (Can't have certain chars.)

Apparently VOTE stores each topic as the 1st 10 letters of the string.
Any plans making "topics" and "storage filenames" separate?
C-net is too powerful to be limited in this simple way.

I wouldn't mind allowing callers to add new vote CHOICES when they
don't care for any of the existing ones. But don't want to give
everyone TOPIC-add powers that they can go crazy with, just to do it.

Are on/off priviledge bits available for each separately?
1) Add new vote TOPICS
2) Add new vote CHOICES

Is a list available of ALL the things amaint does when run?
Are these tasks available individually via command line options
to amaint?
1) Only do the things that need doing.
2) Auto-run doing 1-2 options per day.
3) Check/skip certain dirs.
Michael Moon reports 2-1/2 hours maint runs as it checks a CD-ROM.

Is amaint.c available? I'm sure someone would option-ize it.

Is a config option planned that would keep/not-keep blanked screens
blank during calls? I'm sure some sysops want it either way.

Perhaps:
+5 -- Intensity for Blank Screen (unblank during calls)
-5 -- Intensity for Blank Screen (stay blanked during calls)
bbsconfig wouldn't even need to be expanded.

Why are filenames like "xx" and "yy" used in some places?
The docs DOES mention what they do, it's just a very odd choice in
cryptic filenames.

And wildcard chars like "xprzmodem*.library" should NEVER be used.
(Per CBM themselves.)
Are other wildcard-usages planned?

Are there any plans to expand:
>To address Powerslave, enter '-' at this prompt. (the last responder)
into
>To address Powerslave, enter '-' at this prompt. (the last responder)
>To address Bill Beogelein, enter '+' at this prompt. (the 1st responder)
or maybe just
#0 (response addressed to original item-poster)
#1 (response addressed to response #1 name)
#2 (response addressed to response #2 name)
#n (response addressed to response #n name)
