o After downloaded MagicWB and the multitude of other such icon collections..
I decided to put something together that was a little different. It seems
that all of these icon collections keep trying to outdo eachother with
snazzier graphics, more colors, better animation.. which in turn give you:
  bigger sizes!

o The idea of SIMPLICITY is different. This set of icons is .. as the name
implies .. simple. They are drawn for functionality with a minimalist
style. The end result is a very pleasing, simple, WB with a different
  look.

o I have always loved the Amiga's ease of use and most of all the ability to
be customized _completely_ however you want! I have drawn icon sets for my
various WB setups many times..but they always seem to lack a few things,
one being that they don't go together (different sizes, different shadow
schemes, different animation schemes...etc.) and therefore are ugly to look
at. The SIMPLICITY set was drawn with a uniform style in mind from the
  beginning.

o I have included the IFF file from which the icons were taken, a nice little
backdrop brush I drew, a preferences palette file for the backdrop and
another that looks nice with SIMPLICITY (right now I am using 2.04 (after
  having a 1200 for 2 weeks.. sucks going back to 2.0 & ECS) on a 3000UX).
If I remember right, 3.0 automatically loads the palette from the backdrop,
so you can disregard that palette file.

o I produced this icon set for a different group of people than the usual
icon set is. It is not intended to show off the Amiga (which MagicWB is
definitely great for). It is also probably not going to be appealing to a
new Amiga user. But: for those of you who have had one of these wonderful
machines for a while, use the new workbenches (who can resist?) and don't
want to waste all the space that highly detailed 8- or 16-color icons take
up...it is a refreshing change. Therefore, being aimed at experienced
users, I didn't put together any scripts to install the icons, AmigaGuide
documents to describe how to install them, etc. BUT: I will give you a
few hints at it (isn't that nice of me?)

First the contents of this LHA file:

HD.info : HD icon
FLOPPY.info	: Floppy / ram disk icon
FOLDER.info	: Folder icon
TOOL.info	: Tool icon
BigTOOL.info	: Larger Tool icon (I use this one for the main programs that
I leave out on my workbench..)
PROJECT.info	: Project icon
PREFS.info	: Preferences folder icon
SHELL.info	: Shell icon

MYWB1.pic	: One of my WB setups
MYWB2.pic	: Another of my WB setups (the girl's name is Ginger..)
ICONS.pic	: The iff pic of the icons
BACKDROP.bru	: A nice backdrop
BACKDROP2.bru	: Another backdrop w/ simplicity logo (use SIMpal1.pre)

SIMpal1.pre	: The palette for the plain SIMPLICITY setup
SIMpal2.pre	: The palette for the BACKDROP.bru
SIMpat.pre	: The windows/workbench pattern preset for SIMPLICITY

  uhh..`Hints' on installing:

o Basically, you're going to have to replace every DISK.info with the
appropriate info file (HD or FLOPPY), every folder with the FOLDER.info and
every tool with the TOOL.info, & every project with the PROJECT.info (some
  hints, eh?).

*****************************************************************************

NOTE: For files such as commodities and projects that have information in
the .info file : you are going to have to load the ORIGINAL .info file
into IconEDIT (just load up IconEDIT and drag the icon into the editing
window). THEN: select "IMAGE/LOAD/BOTH IMAGES" from the menu bar and select
the SIMPLICITY .info file. This HAS TO BE DONE or you will lose the
original .info's information (like CX_POPUP=NO, etc.)

(To check if this process should be used on an icon, select the icon and
then select "ICON/INFORMATION" from the menu bar..if there is anything in the
TOOL TYPES window, you must do the above ^^)

*****************************************************************************

Well that does it! Hopefully you found this icon collection to be useful..
Look for other BEATY softworks releases on the net .. like

                            ----> RUEDA <----

the greatest Wheel Of Fortune game out there (well..it beats out the
_other_ one!). RUEDA was written in the wonderful AMOS and has great
graphics and sound!
