Making terminal software work with the 2400ZI / ZI Plus 05/10/91

In order for software to work with the ZI modems, the software must be
configured to use the modem0.device. Depending on the software, you will
use one of 3 methods.

The first method is to use the ModemModify program as explained in the 2400ZI
manual. This is for older software which has not been updated to support
Commodore's serial device standard. Use this for the follwing software:

	Access! - Shareware software
	DR Term - Progressive Per.
	Diga - Aegis
	SuperBase Pro - Precision
	VT100 - Shareware

The second method is to add a tool type to the program's icon. To do this,
click once on the program's icon, go to the WORKBENCH pull down and select
INFO. Click on the ADD in the tool type portion of the screen. Then enter
the following line:

	DEVICE=modem0.device

Then click on the SAVE button. IMPORTANT: Case is very important, also make
sure that you type a 0 and not a O. You can't run the program from the CLI,
you must double click on the program's icon. The following use this method:

	ATalkIII
	OnLine! Platinum

The third method is to change the serial device setting in the program itself.
IMPORTANT: Case is very important, also make sure that you type a 0 and not a
O. The following use this method:

	BaudBandit
	JR-Comm
	Whap!

BAUDBANDIT - Click on the MACRO pulldown. Change the device configuration
from 'serial/0' to 'modem0/0'. Hit the RETURN key. Click on the SAVE
CONFIGURATION button at the bottom of the screen to save the change.
NOTE: SHOW MODEM will not work with BAUDBANDIT because of a unknown character
in the screen name.

JR-Comm - From the OPTIONS pull down, select GENERAL. Change the serial device
paramter from 'serial' to 'modem0.device'. Hit the RETURN key. From the
PROJECTS pull down, select WRITE DEFAULTS to save the change.

WHAP! - Click on the EDIT PARAMETERS button. Change the device driver from
'serial' to 'modem0.device'. Click on the SAVE button to save the change.
