Dear user.

Welcome to another release of FReq. Those of you who are already familiar with
FReq might just want to install all files manually. If you are not familiar
with all of FReq's concepts and ideas it is wise to execute the SetUpFReq
script in order to copy all files to their designated directories. You should
also read the documents of all utilities very carefully in order to create
a correct environment for FReq to work.

IMPORTANT: Two utilities are provided to patch your existing nodelist and
configfiles to the new 3.1 type formats. FReq version 3.1 will reject the
files you used with version 3.0. Therefore you should first patch both your
nodelistfile and your configfile before you use FReq for the first time.
Refer to the documentfiles of both utilities for more information. The
archive does not contain the req.library and traplist.library like the
archive of version 3.0 did. The reason for this is that both libraries are
widely spread among Amiga/TrapDoor users. If you should not posess either one
of these libraries you can find the req.library on almost any major bulletin
board and the traplist.library as a part of the TrapDoor 1.80 release.

This version of FReq now finally features a filelist browser with which you
can scan and select from NEWFILES, ALLFILES or similar listings. Earlier
versions of FReq suffered from competition on this point, I hope I have
eliminated the competition now to make FReq the most comfortable, secure and
versatile filerequest utility available on the Amiga. All parts of this
archive have been tested extensively and should be bugfree. Nevertheless,
FReq doubled in size compared to the last release which indicates that lots
of new code has been added and not only the programmers among you should
know that bugs feel comfortable in new code. ;)

Now all that is left for me is to wish you good luck and happy filerequesting
with FReq. Bugreports and suggestions are still welcome, you can send both to
the address mentioned in section 5 of FReq's documentation.
