When extracting the files. make sure the FILE ATTRIBUTES are retained.
All files should have the SCRIPT 's' protection bit set.
Use   C:protect <filename> +s  if they dont.

* It is VERY unwise to run GPFax without it opening the serial port     *
* since your modem may not have the FAX ID and other information set-up *
* correctly.  In this case, you may experience UNRELIABLE operation.    *
*                                                                       *
* If you plan to run GPFax in a way in which GPFax only opens the       *
* serial port when it needs to receive, then you must have initialised  *
* the modem using the OPENSERIAL  INITMODEM  CLOSESERIAL commands any   *
* time the modem is RESET or TURNED OFF (some modems may not save their *
* fax settings in NVRAM).                                               *
