Streamer Error Messages

Couldn't load (something).library
- Library is missing from your system, or is too old.
Replace the files in LIBS: or Upgrade :-)

Couldn't load bsdsocket.library
- Your TCP stack is not running.
Don't bother looking for bsdsocket.library, as you probably won't find it. Most TCP stacks 'emulate' this shared library, so Miami, AMITCP, or Genesis need to be running when Streamer is started. This way, Streamer should work with all TCP stacks.

Couldn't open button.gadget
- The file is missing from your system, or is in the wrong place.
Due to the checquered evolution of ClassAct and ReAction, gadget classes can be found in a variety of places. Streamer looks in these drawers for this file:

No playlist file/HTTP: chosen
- You cancelled out of the playlist file requester.
Streamer will not run unless it is given a file to play. First it checks the command line for one, then failing that, prompts you to select one from your playlist drawer.

No file chosen
- You cancelled out of the mp3 file requester.
You had started Streamer with the RECONLY option, but cancelled out of the file requester. In this case, Streamer will quit.

File is not a playlist
- The first line of a playlist file should be '[playlist]' or a URL.
The server may be broken and it returned a debugging message to you.

Invalid filename!
- The playlist file couldn't be opened

Couldn't run audio player
- MPEGA or RAPlay isn't in your command path.
Put it somewhere like C: or edit the path in your startup-sequence to include the drawer where MPEGA and/or RAPlay live.

Couldn't lock Pubscreen
- Streamer can't examine the public screen you specified
Ensure you typed the name of the pubscreen correctly... ie Voyager, AWEB, etc.
Another program may have a lock on the pubscreen. This is unlikely.

Couldn't open PIPE:
- There was an error opening the PIPE: file.
The Amiga's pipe isn't all that peachy. That's why Streamer works great for some people and not at all for others. If you are one of the unfortunates, try upgrading your pipe or queue-handler with a replacement from AmiNet. Try as I may, I can't get it to work for everybody. Sorry.

Couldn't write to PIPE: (or ERROR: DOS: xxx)
- Streamer can't copy data from the Internet to your player's pipe.
See above. Your player may not be emptying the PIPE: buffers quickly enough, but that shouldn't ever happen, realistically.

Couldn't open diamond.font:
- Streamer requires this font. It should have come with your OS.

Couldn't open (something) window.
- You're running out of GFX memory!

No More Data From Host
The remote server has disconnected you, or the connection timed out.
Streamer will have to be restarted.

Couldn't Connect to Server
The remote server did not accept a connection. Either it is down, or is too busy.
Try again later.
