PICASSOII+ is an improved design of the leading graphics card for any Zorro based Amiga.

Oldie ... But Goldie!

The PICASSO II+ is an enhanced redevelopment of the well known PICASSO II RTG card. The newly designed bus-interface offers improved performance in all resolutions. Because of the on-board monitor switch, no second monitor is necessary. You can, however, easily switch between the standard AMIGA resolutions and the new PICASSO resolutions.

One Monitor Solution

Every monitor with a horizontal frequency starting at 15kHz (or 30kHz if you have a scan doubler) can be connected to the PICASSO II+. Even the 11084 can be used with a special adapter cable which is available seperately.

Special Video Module

The optional video encoder module, PABLO, provides a high quality converter to allow easy playback of animations on a TV or record them on a VCR. Currently, two connectors (CVBS and S-VHS) support only the PAL standard.

Graphic Chip

The PICASSO II+ has the Cirrus Logic CL-5428 graphics chip on board. This chip has an integrated 32-bit blitter which allows a maximum data transfer of 30MB/s. Additionally, a hardware cursor is included and Hardware Panning (AutoScroll) is supported, too. The CL-5428 provides Chunky-Pixel in 8-bit, HiColor ( 15 or 16-bit ) and TrueColor ( 24-bit ).

Resolutions

With the PICASSO II+ you can display your Workbench in 8-bit (256 colors) with 1152 x 900 at 65Hz (maximum non-interlaced resolution) or up to 1600 x 1200 with 60 Hz interlace. To use these maximum values you require a multiscan monitor with at least 64 kHz horizontal frequency. The powerfull tool "PicassoMode" allows you to create resolutions.

TrueColor

The PICASSO II+ allows you to display pictures with 32,000 or 65,000 colours (HiColour mode) in up to 1152 x 900 pixels. Furthermore, the PICASSO II+ with 2MB of graphics memory allows you to display up to 800 x 600 with 16.8 million colours (TrueColor mode)
