The Galactic Map

This map includes the latest available data to bring you a comprehensive view of the distribution of all the major groups and races in our galaxy.

The Major Races

Of the 20 or so known races only 6 have risen to significant powers. The oldest, the Vaipen and Ovaska, have control over considerable parts of the galaxy but they appear to have halted any advancement of their borders and have created a mysterious secrecy surrounding their actions.

The remainder of sentient races are clustered in an area approximately equal in size to the Korhonen Enclosure. After the destruction of a Rahn colony by the Elarien in 2005 these worlds formed the Union of independent Worlds, governed by an elected council which is designed to allow the worlds to work together for mutual protection.

Galactic History

In association with the Stellar History Group the Collins Encyclopedia Galactica now contains comprehensive histories for all known races. These can be accessed via the History Index or in galactic context through the history time-lines.

These history lists include dates from all the known races, as well as a few speculative dates. All the dates are in Earth years (365.256 std days). Much of the information here has been obtained from various studies and used by kind permission of the Stellar History institute. Much of the early history is taken from documents released through Ovaskan diplomatic channels and has been endorsed by the Galctic Assembly.
