This month I bring you a demo of Burnout, a new futuristic multiplayer car bashing game from Vulcan Software.
Publisher: Vulcan Software
Requirements: Aga, 6MB, HD installable
Upon loading the demo you will be greeted by some excellent music and it will tell you a bit about the storyline to the game. The storyline goes like this; Earth 2045 has changed after the scarring of the past war. But this was no ordinary war as it was fought by huge media giants. This sport provides the masses with entertainment and lines the pockets of those who show it. But only the bravest can burn out and that is were you come in.
In the demo you have the option to chose the amount of players you want. The game is best played with multiple players.
You can only go the Knockout section. The Arena and the car have already been chosen so it is a matter of getting down to playing the actual game.
At the start you will be presented with the Arena which is a circle with a cliff surrounding it. But you can't hang around and admire the graphics or try to work out the controls as your opponents will bash you to bits. Once you start you should hold down the fire button to accelerate forward and bash and push your opponents of the screen.
I managed to play this with three other people and I have to say we had brilliant fun killing each. But I have to emphasize that this is a basic demo to show the high quality of Burnout and the full game contains more features. Not only can you play in many different Arenas but you can chose better cars and buy weapons to beat of your opponents.
