Name : VKill Aliases : No Type/Size : Boot/1024 Clones : No Clones Symptoms : No Symptoms Discovered : 15-04-93 Way to infect: Boot infection Rating : Less Dangerous Kickstarts : 1.2/1.3 only works properly without fastmem. Damage : Overwrites boot. Manifestation: Pretends to be a Viruskiller. Removal : Install boot. Comments : The VKill-Virus copies itself to a area calculated with the Sysstklower ($3A(a6)). But with fastmem this this area is located in the fastmem. So if the virus wants to write a bootblock it will only write garbage on your disk. To infect other disks this virus uses the PutMsg()- Vector from the exec.library this is a new method. If you are booting with a SCA-Infected disk the virus shows you a requester which tells you that the disk is infected. A VKill bootblock will be written to this disk. If you are booting with a clean unprotected disk the virus writes a VKill Bootblock on it (!!!!!). The Texts are crypted so you can`t read them. A.D 08-94
