Lightwave Tutorial (Part 2)

In this second issue, we decided to teach you how to create Star-Wars-like scenes. You'll see it will not be so difficult, thanks to Lightwave.

First of all, load this object:

- SpaceFighter (or any other space ship you like). Insert by MOVE Numeric Input the following values:

    X: -24
    Y: 0
    Z: 24

and rotate the object inserting these values by ROTATE numeric input:

    H: 128.80
    P: -0.60
    B: 0

Create the key with CREATE KEY.

Copy the key pressing CREATE KEY and inserting number 30.

Go to position 30 with NEXT

Insert by MOVE Numeric Input the following values:

    X: 0
    Y: 0
    Z: 5

Create the key with CREATE KEY.

Copy the key pressing CREATE KEY and inserting number 60.

Go to position 60 with NEXT

Insert by MOVE Numeric Input the following values:

    X: 20.30
    Y: 0
    Z: -3.20

Rotate the CAMERA inserting following values inside ROTATE:

    H: 46.80
    P: 2.20
    B: 0

Create the key with CREATE KEY.

Copy the key pressing CREATE KEY and inserting number 80.

Go to position 80 with NEXT

Insert by MOVE Numeric Input the following values:

    X: 62
    Y: 0
    Z: -36

Rotate the CAMERA inserting following values inside ROTATE:

    H: 90.20
    P: 3.6
    B: 0

Make better the SCENE with objects such as: Planets, stars and other space ship.

For a better impact, do the followings:

Lens Flare upon the space ship.
Motion Blur for animation.
Shadow and full Ray-Tracing.

How we can notice, it is the virtual camera to give a feeling of movement and to make better the scene. Using LIGHTWAVE it is very simple to create smooth movements effects, for example move the virtual camera on ever different paths and it will be the program to calculate the movement.
