Text Flow

The most important part of a webpage is the content, and the content is usually text. Therefore it's very essential that the text is very easy to read. Here are a couple of things you should keep in mind.

Font

Use only standard fonts like Times, Helvetica or Arial, for example. If you use some really weird font in your text, except for headers, logos, etc, it may be quite hard to read more than just a couple of lines.

Colors

Think of the color contrast, especially with the background. Blue text on black background is almost blurred together and becomes very hard to read. A very dark text on a very light background usually is the best alternative.

Page Length

Don't make your page too long, even if you have an interesting content it might get boring just to scroll down and scroll down and scroll down... Consider using a couple of shorter pages grouped together instead. At least try to divide your page into short paragraphs.

Page Width

Very wide paragraphs are also hard to read, the reader easily becomes very tired. Use paragraphs and indentations to prevent your pages from becoming to wide. Remember that someone with a screen with a very high resolution will get wider paragraphs than a screen with a lower resolution.

Links

Don't have every single word in your text as a hyperlink. Too many links within text can be distracting. Maybe put a little list of links at the end of the page.
