Stage Two of the Made For KiDS campaign has been completed!! Stage One, the compilation of a list of quality software for children, was completed two months ago.
After numerous delays, Stage Two has also been completed and the creation of the new folder on the
Aminet, misc/kids has now taken place.
A complete description of the Made For KiDS campaign can be found here
but for those of you who don't know, the Made For KiDS campaign
is dedicated to the promotion of the Amiga as a computer for all ages.
As such, one of the principle aims of the campaign is to make kids' software easily
available to users.
The first step in doing this was to create a new folder on the Aminet so that software
is much easier to find.
We have gone much further than this though and have created a
software directory on our site which upgrades the format of the Aminet to include
reviews, screenshots, compatibility notes, categories and age ranges.
Check out the Software Directory NOW to see the benefits it offers over the standard
Aminet "readme" approach!! The Kids' Section has received another major update!!
We have received a number of original stories for children which we have formatted and
uploaded to the website - Stories Title Page.
We hope to add many more stories in the future and are currently looking for people
to write some more stories/do some artwork for us.
Check the Wanted
section for further information about how you could help to bring a little happiness to
some of the children who have chosen to use Amiga computers!!
Also of note is the new format of the Kids' Software Directory which
now has much more information about each title on the main page for those of you who want to get the information
you need as quick as possible!
We have also gone to great lengths to make the directory easier to navigate through
than ever before as well as a bit more tasteful :)
At the bottom of each page you will now find a quicklink menu to bring you to the
next title, previous title or simply back to the complete directory listing!
