Issue 14 Poll:

Amiga '99 thumbs up?

Notes about the poll:

It's a terrible thing, having to count up all these votes. My mailbox is overrun with your electronic voting papers. So, as I may already have mentioned, I'm going to try and write an Arexx CGI to count them up. Anyone who wants to give me a hand, please do so

Last month's poll results

Last month, we asked you if you would like to see Netscape integrated in any future version of AmigaOS. Well a cyber-truckload of messages later, the result is here, and it's pretty clear:.
Yes please, I'd love Netscape with my OS:
66%
No, steer well clear of Netscape:
34%
So the vote goes in favour of Netscape!

Down to business: this month's poll

The major Amiga announcement when it came sent massive shockwaves through the Amiga community. It was definitely not what everyone had expected.

Our poll question this month is quite simple: do you agree with Amiga Inc.'s plans for the future? Having read our extensive WoA '98 feature, what is your opinion?

On one hand, it's the break with the old that some have long wanted to see: for Amiga to become successful again the past has to be left for what it was, and a totally new hardware standard, beyond even PPC, has to be implemented. Forget PPC, forget BlizzardVision, that's old hat.

On the other hand, this break could well be for the worst. The current design was revolutionary at one point, and could be again. It simply needs to be updated for the next millenium. Don't give me all this Digital Convergence stuff, how do we know that's going to be so great?

It's up to you: do you agree with Amiga Inc.'s plans for the future?
