Game Review: Rapid Racer Publisher: Sony Price: £34.99 Platform: Playstation Wow, the first game we're aware of that actually went out and licenced a cool band to write the games tunes for it! Apollo 440 are the group behind the games tune, which has also been released as a single! What's more, the song is cool, but this isn't a music review, we're looking at the game, but needless to say, the soundtrack gets a 10! Rapid Racer as you may have gathered from the title, is a racing game. Get a mate round your place, plug in another joypad, and go head to head, like in the classic Lotus games. Only this is a Playstation game, so the graphics are in full rendered 3D, as are most PS games. Several different courses for you to choose from, including the brilliant Lava flow course, which is probably my favourite of the courses on offer. It is also the easiest to move around, but the game is quite a toughie, so don't expect to fork out the 35 smackers, get the game home and finish it by tea time. This game will keep you playing for weeks, months or even years before you finish it, unless you're really skilled. Top racing action, and definately the best racing game on the PS! Rating: 9
