ALL ABOUT RIPMAG! So, we're back again, RIPMAG is back on the scene, under new ownership, a new look, and with a completely new "team". So here's a few FAQ about RIPMAG Q) Why the name "RIPMAG"? It was originally R.I.P+MAG. I think it was supposed to signify the end of all other Amiga diskmags... didn't quite happen. We renamed it RIPMAG because...erm...dunno really, sounds good though. Q) So who owns it? Well, back in the original days of the disk, it was run by a computer group up in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and was released every two weeks (!!) and had about 200 hundred readers, when the group owner decided to close the group (not because of lack of members either, he sold up for a PC and ditched every one!), so the PD library (R.I.P+PD) and their demo producing part of the group who only released two rather drab demos, all went. R.I.P+Mag (the + is a tombstone cross by the way) was a great disk though, so I had some ideas about brining it back and making it bigger, so I contacted the previos owner, so said he didn't care less if I stole the name and the image, so now RIPMAG is part of the N-E Computer Groups magazines. Q) N-E Computer group? Sounds familiar... Maybe to some people, most people it will not, but you may have seen some of the other diskmags we make: "Micromag" on the Acorn BBC/Electron by Simon Anderson (my brother yeah) and Karl TC, "Plussy" for the C+4, and "The-Point" (previously Page, our longest running disk, which was also a take over job) for the Amiga (which is around if you look for it, ahem). Recently the N-E Computer group was renamed "Point-Productions", hmmnn... Q) So who is the Team? Currently...only me (Nick) , and a couple of friends did a couple of articles, or let me use them from other sources, but hopefully we'll get a few more people joing us soon, who knows if we get any coders, maybe the PD lib can start again? It's a possibility, only you folks can do it! Q) Are you a part of Team Amiga? Our group is, yes. Q) I like this diskmag business, can you tell me of any more cool diskmags? Look at the Amiga Web Directory "Magazines" page, good mags include The-Point, R.A.W, and The Word. AmigaGuide mags are there as well such as the awesome Amiga Report and a new AmigaGuide mag called Amiga-Choice which is very good actually. If you want to have a giggle at a badly put togther, un-professional magazine, made by idiots who don't have the first clue about computers, check out page 140 on Channel 4 Teletext, fools. Q) Why does Digitiser get so much stick in your mag? 'Cos it's crap. +RIPMAG+
